Putin’s Speech To Russia’s Security Council Explained Reason Of Major Strikes In Ukraine

On October 10, Russian President Vladimir Putin held a meeting with permanent members of the Russian Security Council. In his speech he has confirmed the launch of a major operation against Ukrainian infrastructure in response to the Crimean Bridge attack and explained the ground of such a decision:

Dear colleagues, good afternoon!

You know that yesterday the Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia, Alexander Ivanovich Bastrykin, reported on the first results of the investigation of the sabotage committed on the Crimean Bridge.

The data of forensic and other examinations, as well as latest information, indicate that the explosion staged on October 8 is a terrorist act, a terrorist attack aimed at destroying the civilian, critical infrastructure of Russia.

It is also obvious that the customers, organizers, perpetrators of the terrorist attack are the Ukrainian special services. The Kiev regime has been using terrorist methods for a long time. These are the murders of public figures, journalists, scientists, both in Ukraine and in Russia. These are terrorist attacks on the cities of Donbass, which have been ongoing for more than eight years. These are acts of nuclear terrorism, I mean rocket and artillery strikes on the Zaporozhye NPP.

They are not limited to that: the special services of Ukraine have also carried out three terrorist acts against the Kursk NPP in Russia, repeatedly blowing the high-voltage lines of the power plant. As a result of the third such terrorist attack, three such lines were damaged at once. The damage was eliminated as soon as possible, any serious consequences were avoided.

But a number of other terrorist attacks and attempts of similar crimes have also been committed against electric power facilities and the gas transportation infrastructure of our country, including an attempt to blow one of the sections of the Turkish Stream gas pipeline system.

All this is proved by unbiased findings, including the testimony of the detained perpetrators of these terrorist attacks.

As you know, representatives of Russia are not allowed to investigate the causes of explosions and destruction of international gas transmission systems passing along the bottom of the Baltic Sea. But we are all well aware of the ultimate beneficiary of this crime.

De facto, the Kiev regime has put itself on par with international terrorist groups, the most odious of them. Leaving such crimes without a response has become impossible.

This morning, at the suggestion of the Ministry of Defense and according to the plan of the Russian General Staff, a massive strike was carried out with high-precision long-range air, sea and land-based weapons on energy, military administration and communications facilities of Ukraine.

If attempts to carry out terrorist attacks on our territory continue, Russia’s responses will be tough and will correspond in scale to the level of threats posed to the Russian Federation. No one should have any doubts about this.

Earlier today, Putin held a meeting with the heads of regions at which he also said:

Our country is currently facing a certain amount of pressure from external sources. This imposes a particular, even greater degree of responsibility on regional heads, as on leaders at every level of power, and requires even greater concentration, and consolidation of efforts for the sake of reaching the goals we are facing.
