Qatar To Buy U.S.-Made F-35 Fighter Jets – Report

Qatar has made an official request to the U.S. to buy stealthy F-35 fighter jets, Reuters reported on October 7, citing three sources with knowledge on the matter.

The Qatari embassy in Washington didn’t respond to a request for comment by the news agency. The U.S. Department of State declined to confirm or deny that an official request to buy F-35s was submitted by Doha.

“As a matter of policy, the United States does not confirm or comment on proposed defense sales or transfers until they are formally notified to Congress,” a State Department spokesman told Reuters.

According to Reuters sources, the request for the F-35s, which is made by Lockheed Martin, was submitted by Qatar in recent weeks.

If approved, the deal will lead to serious tension between the U.S. and Saudi Arabia, which has been leading a coalition against Qatar since 2017. The deal will also provoke Israel. Tel Aviv views any possible sale of F-35 fighter jets to Arab states as a threat to its qualitative military edge.

Last August, the U.S. agreed to discuss a possible deal to supply F-35 fighter jets to the UAE. Despite the recent peace agreement, Israel opposed the deal.

The F-35 is the most expensive weapons system in the U.S. history. According to the Pentagon’s selected acquisition report (SAR), the total cost of developing, building, operating and maintaining at least 2,457 F-35s ordered by the U.S. Army will exceed $1.5 trillion.

While many obstacles lay ahead of exporting F-35 fighter jets to Qatar or the UAE, the deals can be highly profitable for the U.S. military industrial complex.

This is why Iran’s push to improve ties with Qatar looked like a fool’s errand from the get-go. What’s to be achived? Deploying more intelligence assets at the Iranian embassy in Doha? The US-led global Ziocorporate terrorists expanded al-Udeid base to make it bigger than ever, and now, with F35 and all. This is a direct result of the ISISrael-Ziowahhabi so-called “peace deal”, as if all those colonial abortions of the British empire weren’t close since the beginning, and Iran what Iran needs is to speed up their own defense systems development and see if Russia/China will keep propping up their elites’ “business and partnership” with the globalist Zioterrorists or shift focus something else.

Jens Holm

Thats no peace deal. Its replacing USA and others there against Iran – and others. With less USA and the rest of us, there should be no vakuum.

So its making even. Do You really think midgets like You shoul take any influence from there?

If Iran and others really should make peace, they all should invest in better farming ad techologial innovations and productions fx based on oil. Hard to see oilproducers not even can produce plastic bottles for themselves.

I don’t see the game as over at all. Turkey is on the trajectory to becoming an ex-NATO client state. Qatar is on a similar trajectory. Iran and co. will either be in a good position to offer friendship to Qatar when the time comes or it won’t. The long part of this long game is a world featuring a post war environment with Iran. They know the US collapse is coming, they know Iran will survive such a war. The fact that the US will flail violently in it’s last days of power is pretty much dogma with the Resistance states of China, Russia and of course, Iran. Winning a war isn’t required, simply surviving intact will be enough to become the big players on a world stage post collapse.

Maybe we’ll benefit from our neighbor’s(brother) good fortune:))))

the usa will sell the F-35 to anybody that will take it. they are a failed project

Jens Holm

They are among the best now. Long bad and expensive proces. But to me it semes to be a succes or at least no fiasco because they now can sell many of them.

I have and oppinion about that. We have ordered 30 to replace our F16s , where some are old.

I would have prepared we only had ordered 20 and bigger drones for the rest and see. I think we see drones are devlloping fast and migt replace F35s. Slow drines can see better, what going on.

JIMI JAMES

f35s are slow, infact burn their fuel cells above 950 kph,the best are built in oz one have a real deal 6th gen umanned fighter jet under 40 million bucks, but lockheed martin scammers hate australians for this, well they will be utilised whilst the flabby f35 leads the fleet in the future,f35 is just a pathedic excuse of faile economic marketing scam, stick to boeings!!

Jens Holm

Very good it has wheels just as the 1500 737s.

Qatar World Cup 2022 –

Qatar will get nothing, they are Hamas supporters and Israel won’t allow them to have any stealth jets. The UAE and Bahrain can have them as far as I care, but not Qatar. We will stop that deal.

<>

Actually, there is a law in the U.S that they can not sell advanced weapons to other countries in the ME without talking to Israel first, in order to keep our military superiority. Qatar won’t have the F35, no matter how much money they want to pay.

Ivan Freely

Although rare in the US, laws can be changed or ignored.

Raptar Driver

That law was passed by criminals and it’s unconstitutional.

<>

Angry much? Qatar will get nothing.

Raptar Driver

Yeah that’s the problem. We are not making the decisions, you are. Should I be a bit angry when my country is taken over by foreigners?

<>

I would buy 50-100 more, but it’s not my call.

Raptar Driver

They’re not your jets.

Me&Myself None

It doesn’t make sense to why is the F-35 is being sold as hot cakes, while the plane has such a bad reputation, even Canada, Germany refuse to buy it. Why is it that no one is lining up to buy the su-57?

The thing is these countries are buying it because of US military grandstanding. — The fact that the Saudis can chop up a civilian in their own embassy and no one can do anything about it is because of the US. If any Russia’s ally including Russia did something like that, then US would have forced every country to apply sanction on Russia, but even Russia kept its mouth shut on this atrocity.

— The fact that Israel can do whatever it wants without any consequences is because of the US.

— The fact that US can force everyone including Russia and China to vote against their own interest, Example: Voted to sanction North Korea, Iran ect. is a testament to US power.

You see these types of star power sell weapons, even if such weapons have such a bad reputation, and the buyers are well aware of that.

On the other hand, Russia likes to appear or be perceived as being weak. When Russia looks feeblish in face of Israel continue aggression on one of its allies. When it looks feeblish in dealing with Turkey’s partitioning of Syria. When it looks even more feeblish letting the US occupy huge chunk of territory of your ally and stealing its oil. Russia is even afraid of openly supporting the eastern Ukraine pro-Russia fighters in order to not antagonize the US; you see these types of feebleness are not good for business, which is why even if Russia has great weapons, no one (except the countries that do no bow to the US) is lining up to buy it.

Assad must stay

spot on accurate its so infuriating

Assad must stay

what a waste of money for qatar, garbage jets, does qatar even have an air force?

verner

the qataris are calling the disunited states of A’s deal with the gulf states, whether it is a one sided pro-jew agreement or if it actually carries some benefits for the arab statelets. most likely the qataris will find that the benefits are squarely with the jews and very little with the minnow statelets. clever move by the qataris and possibly the end of kushner’s plan to further the jews in palestine’s attempt to go to war with Iran and thus end the threat against the palestinian jews existence. like kushner’s ‘deal of the century’ fell flat to the ground so will the deal to fool the gulf statelets into agreements with the jews in palestine.

JIMI JAMES

Reuters = fake news, packa fascist kweers going down, down, down (period) f35S are sht,not worth it!
