Qatar To Receive Six Armed Drones From Turkey

Turkey is preparing to hand over six Bayraktar TB2 unnamed combat aerial vehicles (UCAVs) to the Qatari military, the Qatar News Agency (QNA) reported on February 8.

The Qatar Armed Forces and the Turkish aircraft manufacturer Baykar Machinery signed the UCAV deal on the sideline of the Doha International Maritime Defense Exhibition and Conference (Dimdex) last year.

Earlier this month, Baykar Machinery said that six Bayraktar TB2 UCAVs ordered by Qatar had completed their factory acceptance tests. The Turkish company also revealed that 55 Qatari military personnel had competed their training on the system in the Turkish province of Erdirne.

The Bayraktar TB2, which was introduced in 2014, has an endurance of 24 hours. The UCAV can carry two Turkish-made laser-guided UMTAS anti-tank missiles.

The delivery of these UCAVs will strengthen the offensive capabilities of the Qatari Armed Forces. However, it will remain inferior to its rivals in Saudi Arabia and the UAE, which obtained similar capabilities from China years ago.

Turkish Drones !!!, stay classy Qatar.

As long as they work, who cares. Any weapon that cannot be disabled remotely by the US is good.

There is a tendency for them to end up like this – https://thedefensepost.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/turkey-bayraktar-drone-crash-afrin-anha-1170×610.jpg
