On November 4, Qeyam Movement announced that it was behind the assassination attempt on the commander of the Manbij Military Council (MMC), Abu Adel, back on November 1. The movement said that its fighters successfully planted and detonated an IED in Abu Adel’s car.
Qeyam also published photos of Abu Adel’s car fighter after the attack to prove it was behind it.
The MMC is a part of the US-backed Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF). The MMC also represents the biggest part of the Arab fighters within the SDF.
Back on November 1, the SDF announced that Abu Adel survived an assassination attempt after an IED hit his car. However, Abu Adel was badly injured, according to local sources.
Since its formation back on October 11, Qeyam Movement has conducted several hit and run operations against the SDF in eastern Syria.
The assassination attempt suggests that the movement has developed its techniques lately. Back on October 23, the movement conducted its first attack with an IED against an SDF vehicle.
Qeyam Movement is for sure one of many security threats that the SDF will face once ISIS is defeated in Syria. However, the SDF will likely fail to address these threats, because it’s a natural response for some of its polices against Arabs in the SDF-held areas.
so did the guy die or what?
I am hoping that the SDF trash is dying painfully.
