Militants operating in the Rastan pocket in northern Homs requested a ceasefire and a new round of negotiations after the Syrian military’s elite offensive unit, the Tiger Forces, had deployed for a military solution of the Rastan issue.

Late on April 30, Rastan militants sent a delegation to the Syrian government’s forces deployed in the area and requested a ceasefire to conduct a new round of peace talks in the area.

Previously, militants had repeatedly rejected reconsiliation agreement proposals from the Syrian government and even Russia. However, the current situation is different because this time the Syrian military is clearly set to solve the Rastan issue via military means and measures if the agreement cannot be reached.

By May 1, the sides have started negotiating a possible reconsiliation deal that would allow the Rastan militants to withdraw from the pocket ot other militant-held areas across Syria or to surrender weapons and to settle their legal status.

If the deal is not reached, the Syrian military will likely launch a military operation against militants in the area.

Government forces are moving towards northern Homs to participate in the Rastan operation:

We came, we saw – they requested a cease fire – muhahahahaha…

Barba_Papa

The best kind of military victory, right?

If it works that is. You never know with these headchoppers.

Hrky75

…it worked plenty of times before..next stop ISIL pocket near Deir Ezzor…

King Tudor777

Yes, my friend. Finish off those rats, evacuate the terrorists in Southern Damascus to Deir ez Zor and Eastern Homs, and finish those rats once and for all! No more evacuations for ISIS. After ir, the same with HTS!

Rob

All those elements and groups that take weapons and finance from foreign states are committing treasons. They should be punished under terrorism act of Syria.

Rob

The right resolution Article 51 of the UN charter resolution – 3324 from 29th November 1978 and the General Assembly resolution 3246 from 29th November 1974 reaffirm the legitimacy of the people struggle for the liberation from colonial and foreign domination and alien subjugation by all available means including arm struggle.

So UN allows Syrian, Palestinians and Yemenis to obtain all effective weapons and support from Russia, China, Iran, Pakistan etc and free themselves from US, UK, France, Israel, Saudis Wahabis and from their proxies. A 1% mindful person will never tolerate bombing on funerals, on wedding parties, the blockade to stop them from obtaining food and brutality on small kids and womens.

A leaked cable with with MBS saying that Palestinian must accept peace or shut up and stop complaining. Seems a lot like what Netanyaho would say. Problem is apparently none have seen MBS after gunfire heard in the palace complex. Please help covering this topics. I don’t know Arabic and if there’s something then it maybe Arabic.

Hrky75

…I don’t read Arabic either…

Just a head up then. Please try finding out too.

BMWA1

MBS sounds like a pig.

King Tudor777

Next after Damascus and Homs will be:

1. Daraa 2. Deir Ezzor and ISIS-held Euphrates Valley 3. At-Tanf 5. If military solution necessary, Idlib 6. If military solution necessary, SDF 7. If military solution necessary, Afrin and Al-Bab 8. If military solution necessary, Golan Heights

King Tudor777

Easy my friend, things won’t be solved by this way. 1. Deir ez Zor and the Euphrates Valley(ISIS causes more trouble than the Dara’a rebels and terrorists) 2. Dara’a 3. Idlib(military solution is necessary) 4. Let the Russians try to solve Al-Tanf by diplomatic ways meanwhile 5. SDF. Let the Russians try to achieve something there(if they can’t) military solution 6. Afrin and Al-Bab. One more time, the Russians (if they can’t) military solution The three last options are dangerous (NATO might bomb the SAA, the Russians are supposed to solve them by peaceful ways, I don’t know exactly how, but the Russians are very smart and will achieve something good, I trust them) 7. No Golan Heifhts for Syria(unfortunately, this is the truth, Syria can’t face Israel, even with Iranian help). Russia will never face Israel, they like Israel, Putin likes Netanyahu. That’s the way to solve the Syrian Crisis, I think, but it’s impossible to solve the Golan Heights’ crisis for now. Best wishes for SAA and the Syrian people who are suffering.

Jim Prendergast

Repatriation of Syrian Golan can still be peacefully negotiated. The legal framework is there. If they could work with Lebanon, Turkey, Greece under U.N. sponsorship the return could be peacefully implemented.

King Tudor777

I agree, but with Trump and Netanyahu things are difficult. It’s hard to say it, but with the Democrats governing the USA, things would be better for Syria, they’re less zionists and understand the evil that the Saudis and Israelis causes against Iran and the Shia. They aren’t good, but they’re better than the Republicans.

Neurasth

The Golan is already getting ethnically purged and seeded with kike turnips. I think its too late to claim it back. The only way it could return to Syria is through military conquest or from an insurgency I think.

Neurasth

I agree with your list. For the Golan Heights, the only way to take it back would be through long economic attrition. Israel is surrounded by enemies. If they keep losing wars like they have recently, they will eventually collapse and Iranian troops should poor in. But Saudi Arabia should fall before Israel.

King Tudor777

The only ways to bankrupt Saudi Arabia are a very long war in Yemen (a decade or more) and another big fall in the oil prices, but it’d bankrupt other countries like EAU, Qatar, Bahrain, Iraq and Iran. So, it’s hard to believe the Saudis will fall and bankrupt, moreover, we don’t know how long the Yemeni War is gonna take.

Neurasth

How do you think its going to go down for Saudi Arabia? Unfortunately it looks to me like it’s going to remain status quo for a very long time. At least they wont flourish, but they’re not about to leave unless somebody starts a Syria scenario on them.

Michał Hunicz

Al-Tanf is only a military base and desert. It will be extremely easy to seize that area, Americans would quickly withdraw seeing rebels’ retreat. Tigers are perfect for operations like this.

velociraptor

sure, mainly, if the only functional unit is the tiger forces. the second one was the desert hawks. but their boss became too much popular and let them die in fake tabqa offenseive. the rast ws incorporated in primitive 5th legion and the boss got asyl in moscow.

syria never was able to defeat israel and never will be.

Sadde

You mean US; Syria never was able to defeat US and never will be

velociraptor

I mean IL. USA is completrely untouchable for Syria.

Sadde

Enlighten me what strategic strength Israel has when subtracted American support from?

velociraptor

In first wars IL won. Without America.

Sadde

Highly unlikely they could have won on their own. Actually one could say that it would have been impossible but it’s different subject. Anyhow, I did not know that it is considered strategic strength!

velociraptor

i dont know, what do you want to say with strategic strength to question of ability of syria to defeat IL???? syria always lost against IL. with huge help of ussr.

Sadde

You replied to a thread with the assertion that Syria has never won over Israel and never will. I wondered if you meant the United States because it seemed to bold to say that a small country like Israel would be invincible. I mean people often forget that it’s the support from the West, making Israel so viperos and not that in itself. When you insisted that you actually meant Israel as an isolated entity would be so invincible, I wondered what it was giving Israel such an inherent strength; geographical (land mass, strategic location, natural defense, etc); population (population size or other unusual phenomena just in their population); Riches; Production ; and so on …

velociraptor

IL is not invincible. IDF is good, but alsoo overhyped. Syria will never win because of mentality. Sy has loser command sytem in the army. This has common things with arab mentality. Think over, how was able IL win the war on 2 fronts within 6 days? Arabs were more, weapons also more. And soviets were also present. Yankees not.

Sadde

I really do not want to be sarcastic, but what you say is that their strength lies in the fact that they have stupid enemies.

velociraptor

exactly

The Orcs saw Brigadier Suheil al-Hassan coming and their guts turned to water!

King Tudor777

They are afraid of the Tigers! If those rats don’t accept, make the sky seem like day at midnight and give them hell!

Tudor Miron

I noticed that Brigadier General Suheil al-Hassan is always guarded by Russian sptesnaz guys.

Barba_Papa

In Arab armies everything revolves around the commander. Good commander = good unit. Bad commander = bad unit. So yeah, keeping him alive is probably key to maintaining the Tiger Forces as they are.

Neurasth

Not just for Arab armies… Bad leadership wastes troops.

Hello SF, I’ve been reading your site for awhile now. It’s really insightful.

My concern is regarding a major propagator of sunni radical juhadism, who seems to sleep away unquestioned, unchecked, anytime, anywhere. He is – Bilal Abdul Kareem – a so-called independent journalist, who is an actual cover for a jihadist journalist, with a youtube series of interviews.

Who is this guy, actually?

He seems to go in and out of Idlib, Syria, with relative ease. He interviews a veritable Who’s Who in Jihadist Paradise: all kinds of terrorist commanders, mercenaries, so-called clerics, sheiks and muftis that operate within rebel sunni anti-government factions in Syria. He openly boasts that is visits the UK, Holland, Belgium, France, Germany, Turkey … nobody questions him for nothing. These countries do not detain him, do not restrain him for coming in and walking out of Syria, Idlib, whenever he pleases. Is he supported by some Western or Saudi foreign intelligence? It seems to be the only logic explanation for this covert Al-Qaida operative. It’s like being a terrorist sympathizer is a legalized practice now in the Western “free journalism” world.

I suggest SF team or an affiliate journalist publish a piece on this guy. Who is supporting him?
