AlMasdarNews reports: The Syrian Army continued its advance on the Islamist stronghold of Daraya in western Ghouta capturing three more building blocks in the southern side of the Damascene city.
As a result of those intense firefights, four jihadists were killed and about a dozen were injured. One of the militants killed is Ahmad Abou Al-Majd, a military commander in the Islamic Martyrs Brigade that operates majorly in Daraya.
Clashes are intensifying in the war torn city as the units from the Syrian Army close in on the insurgent fighters holed up in the last few districts under their control. It is important to note that over half of the city has been captured by the Syrian Army this year.
