Republican Senators Accuse The Democrats Of Doing “What Putin Wants”

Republican Senators are claiming that impeaching Trump is exactly what Russian President Vladimir Putin wants.

This was a warning in an opinion piece, published in the WSJ on September 25th, signed by Rep. Michael McCaul ranking member of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, and 18 other Republican members of the committee.

The Republican senators claimed that even before any of the documents reached them, the Democrats, led by House Speaker Nany Pelosi accused Trump of “high crime and misdemeanor.”

“Intentional or not, Democrats are literally following the Russian president’s playbook. His goal, now and before the 2016 election, has been to pit Americans against one another and erode confidence in our democratic process. The world, which should focus on Mr. Putin’s illegitimate annexation of Crimea and continuing aggression elsewhere in Ukraine, instead is fixated on this partisan domestic theater.”

And that is quite true, not because the Democrats are following “Putin’s agenda,” but rather because the first “meddling campaign” and now the impeachment attempts are specifically playing into “Putin’s hands.” The Democrats claim they’re fighting against the “evil Russia and its overlord” but at the same time they’re helping Russia with the campaigns based on no evidence at all.

Trump rebuked Democrat leader in the House of Representatives Nancy Pelosi for political persecution and published a memo of his conversation with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. It became clear from it that there was no blackmail of the Ukrainian president. But the Democrats can no longer stop in their “crusade.” They will continue following through on the claims and essentially commit political suicide, not only for Presidential candidate Joe Biden, but also for the chances of their party in the Congressional election campaign for the impeachment attempts of Trump, in addition to the completely failed “Russiagate” endeavor.

Trump can now actually move on the offense, and accuse the Democrats of an actual witch hunt. Biden was not his opponent anyway: there was practically no chance that the former vice president would win the primaries of the Democratic Party. This is doubled after the scandal surrounding the activities of his son – Hunter Biden in Ukraine, Joe’s nomination can be completely forgotten.

Essentially, Trump will be forced to now “attack” the entire Democratic party, and it did play into “Putin’s hands.”

It is weakening the US on the global scene, and internally as well. It will impede its attempts to halt Russian expansion in the world, it will stop its ability to fully “protect” Ukraine. The “Russian meddling” narrative is so mainstream right now, that if the Democrats stop their impeachment attempts, they could easily be deemed “Russian agents,” and they are quite unlikely in being successful in impeaching the president.

The Democratic party is also providing Trump with a fair amount of credibility, since their zeal is becoming too apparent, and it is becoming too difficult to cover the witch hunt.

In addition, it is quite apparent that the “Ukraine question,” at least in its mainstream meaning, has lost all importance for Donald Trump, the “Russian aggression” plays no role, the Democratic campaign only strengthened his positions and has potentially made him even more sure that the narrative is of no significance.

This is quite obvious from several observations:

  • At his UN General Assembly speech, Trump didn’t mention Ukraine, the conflict in the Donbass, Crimea or Russia.
  • His meeting with Volodymyr Zelensky was rather brief, about 40 minutes, including the public part of it. The face-to-face meeting was approximately 15 minutes.

Judging by the conversation between the two leaders and Zelensky’s responses and body language, one thing became apparent: the situation in Ukraine is quite apparent for the US President and his aides, the real motivation of the Ukrainian leadership is quite obvious. The position Ukraine occupies in the current state of international relations is quite insignificant.

This is quite firmly reinforced by the recent claim by Estonian President Kersti Kaljulaid that “wider Europe” is growing tired of Ukraine, that can potentially be said even doubly so for the United States.

Essentially, the mainstream narrative is playing to the benefit of Trump, currently, but it is also weakening the United States’ positions on the global scene.

We could do a lot worse then to have the American elites at each other’s throats. I for one am completely fine with. Give me a comfy chair and some snacks and I’ll be a happy camper to the spectacle.

Our hysteria over Russia and Putin is contrived. Same with Iran. It’s like in “Annie Hall” where Woody Allen tries to recreate that special moment with Diane Keaton with the lobsters on the kitchen floor. Only the new babe is wondering “WTF is this?”

For the US that special moment was when Russia was the Soviet Union and full of commies plotting against us. Now the commies are gone from Russia but we long for them to be there so we can be important again. Like before where our regime change and swagger were righteous, not the greasy, dishonest, sick enterprise they are now.

Exactly what I have been saying for years. Putin is now manipulating the Democrats into a impeachment theatre against Trump, that will destroy Americas democracy and freedom. Trump will win again as he is on Putins payroll and the democracy in America is gone……..forever!

The video doesn’t address the unique to the US massive cost of the US forever war, the 1,000 base overseas footprint, the conquer and occupy the planet military machine and the looming $1trillion plus yearly deficits for as far as the eye can see. Ignoring these macro economic factors makes the analysis incomplete at best, or a shoddy diversion from reality.

The Russian vilification by both political parties in the US is fabricated baseless nonsense to divert attention from their gross mismanagement of the US government. That makes them look very foolish on the world stage and to their own citizens.

Whatever Trump’s faults may be. The Mueller witch hunt was obvious nonsense. And the impeachment charade from the beginning has been a similar scam. The recent IG whistleblower report being one more contrived nothing burger that further embarrasses the US government for wasting tax payer money on such foolishness.
