National Resistance Front of Afghanistan (NRFA) continues to clash with the Taliban, its spokesman Ali Nazari said on Twitter.
Compatriots, the lions and eagles of the Hindu Kush in Andarab and Panjshir are heroically cleaning our home tonight from the filth that came in this week. #Freedom #Resistance #Revolution

This came less than a day after Taliban claimed to have captured Panjshir in its entirety and having consolidated control over the entire country.
On September 6th, the Taliban claimed victory in the capture of the Panjshir valley. This presumably completed their takeover of the country and they would unveil a new government soon.
Pictures on social media showed Taliban members standing in front of the gate of the Panjshir provincial governor’s compound after days of fighting with the National Resistance Front of Afghanistan (NRFA), commanded by Panjshiri leader Ahmad Massoud.
“Panjshir, which was the last hideout of the escapee enemy, is captured,” Taliban spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid told a news conference.
Massoud did not concede defeat, saying his force, drawn from the remnants of the regular Afghan army as well as local militia fighters, was still fighting.
“We are in Panjshir and our Resistance will continue,” he said on Twitter. He also said he was safe, but gave no details on his whereabouts.
The Taliban assured the people of the valley that there would be no “discriminatory act against them”. The people living in Panjshir valley are ethnically distinct from the Taliban.
“They are our brothers and would work together for a joint purpose and welfare of the country,” Mujahid said.
In the “new” Taliban governance, universities are beginning to reopen with a new addition: curtains separating male and female students.
Inside Afghanistan, hundreds of medical facilities are at risk of closure because the Western donors are barred from dealing with the Taliban, a World Health Organization official said.
The WHO is trying fill the gap by providing supplies, equipment and financing to 500 health centres, and was liaising with Qatar for medical deliveries, the UN health agency’s regional emergency director, Rick Brennan said.
China’s ambassador to Afghanistan promised to provide humanitarian aid during a meeting with senior Taliban official Mawlawi Abdul Salam Hanifi in Kabul, Tolo news reported.
China has not officially recognised the Taliban as Afghanistan’s new rulers, but Chinese State Councillor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi last month hosted Mullah Baradar, chief of the group’s political office, and has said the world should guide the new government rather than pressure it.
U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken and Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin meanwhile met Qatar’s ruling emir, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani, as Washington seeks to build a consensus among allies on how to respond to Taliban rule.
MORE ON THE TOPIC:
Massoud Jr, who was killing 800 Taliban per day on Twitter, has run away to Tajikistan (assuming he was in Panjshir in the first place) leaving 16 year old boys to die fighting the Taliban to cover his escape. The Panjshir militias, during the 20 year American occupation, also acted like professional criminals, extorting money from Kabul businesses, abducting young women, running prostitution rackets, etc, thoroughly alienating the ordinary Afghan people. There is next to no chance today of any kind of Northern Alliance resurrection, let alone a march on Kabul as in 2021.
He is well skilled in winning wars through press conferences and media releases. Let’s see how that helps him.
ita a matter of time, the Taliban remains undefeated. period.
