At least 11 people have been detained during clashes erupted in France’s Nantes after a police officer shot and killed a 22-year-old man resisting detention on July 4.
According to local police chief Jean-Christophe Bertrand said a car of Aboubakar F. had been under surveillance as part of a drug-trafficking investigation. It was pulled over during a traffic check, but his identity was “not clear and officers received orders to bring the driver to the police station.”
The suspect attempted to reverse the vehicle hitting a police officer in the knee. “One of his colleagues then fired, hitting the young man who unfortunately died,” police chief said.
Following the incident, clashes between police and protesters started in the northwestern neighbourhood of Breil and spreaded into the nearby neighborhoods. Protestsers used molotov cocktails and set at least 20 cars ablaze.
Police deoloyed at least 200 personnel to restore a relative peace and order in these neighbourhoods known for hosting a large number of migrants from Arab countries [a high number of them is from Algeria].

I completely agree that the law should be just and not biased towards certain groups. That said, we live in strange times with too many troublemakers let in by corrupt politicians, so come down hard on them I say, if they shoot them dead then that’s a lot less pressure on society to cater for.

No way to check his ID properly so he was required to clear up the matter at the station could have been easily cleared up. Well he might be alive if he hadn’t responded in a evasive manner very common today people are bad at handling situations such as in the public.
