Late on September 30, a rocket strike targeted the U.S.-led coalition’s al-Harir Base in Erbil’s International Airport in the Iraqi Kurdistan Region.

RT’s reporter in the region said three rockets targeted the base. All were intercepted by a MIM-104 Patriot system of the U.S. military. The rocket’s remains fell in farmlands next to the airport and near the headquarters of the Democratic Party of Iranian Kurdistan.

“Initial reports that Indirect Fire did not land on Coalition Forces in Erbil tonight. There was no damage or casualties. Incident is under investigation,” Col. Wayne Marotto, a spokesman for the U.S.-led coalition said on Twitter.

In an official statement, the Iraqi Joint Command revealed that Grad rockets were fired from an improvised rocket launcher installed in the trunk of a Kia mini truck. The launcher was parked in Wadi al-Tarjlah in the northwestern province of Nineveh.

Citing, the Counter-Terrorism Agency in Kurdistan, Reuters said the attack was launched from an area controlled by the Popular Mobilization Units (PMU).

The PMU refuted these accusations in an official statement, promising to launch an investigation into the attack. The Shiite coalition said the rockets were launched from a no-man land located in the middle of areas controlled by its forces, the Iraqi military and the Kurdish Peshmerga.

The rocket strike on Erbil was the most recent in a series of attacks targeting U.S. forces in Iraq. Most previous attacks targeted military installations around the country’s capital, Baghdad. Shiite armed group affiliated with Iran are allegedly behind these attacks.

Iraqi and Syrian have to make a deal or something with Kurds because as long Kurds hold (Iraq/Syria) areas US will hide under them, in some BS reason such training. PMUs and SAA have to make sure they have eyes on them and take some big head out and after that take the their country on their own hands.
