Five rockets were fired from Lebanon at the northern Israeli settlement of Metula on March 22, in the first such attack since December.
Sirens had sounded in Metula amid the rocket attack. The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) announced that at least three of the rockets were intercepted by air defenses. The other two rockets apparently fell short in Lebanon. There are no immediate reports of casualties or damage.
In an initial response, the IDF shelled the southern Lebanese towns of Yahmar Al-Shaqif, Al-Khayam, Houla and Markaba.
The rocket attack was not claimed by Hezbollah. Meanwhile, the IDF held the Lebanese government responsible for what it described as a “violation” of the ceasefire agreement brokered by the United States last November. It also vowed to respond to the attack “severely.”
Later, Today, Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz announced that he instructed the IDF to respond to the rocket attack.
“We will not allow the reality of fire from Lebanon on the Galilee communities. We have promised security to the Galilee communities, and that is exactly what will happen,” Katz said.
In an apparent threat to the Lebanese capital, the minister warned that “the fate of Metula is the same as Beirut.”
“The Lebanese government bears responsibility for any fire from its territory. I have instructed the IDF to respond accordingly,” he added.
Meanwhile, Metula Mayor David Azoulai accused the Israeli government and the IDF Northern Command of trying “to normalize” a situation of occasional rocket fire from Lebanon
“We won’t allow them to normalize this. I call on Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and of course IDF Northern Command head Maj. Gen. Ori Gordin to act offensively and make it so that not one bullet is fired ever again at northern communities,” the mayor told the Ynet news site.
“This is a failure, this is exactly the policy of containment of October 7. Instead of dealing with nonsense, start providing security to the country’s residents,” he added.
The U.S.-brokered ceasefire was supposed to end all clashes on the Israeli-Lebanese border by February 18. However, the IDF continues to launch strikes against Hezbollah. It also maintains five strategic posts in southern Lebanon. The group, which appears to be exercising strategic patience, has so far refrained from responding.
Although there is no evidence yet suggesting that Hezbollah was behind the rocket attack on Metula, Israel could use the incident as a pretext to escalate against Lebanon.

hezb. is getting back in the saddle. shlomo will soon be paying a heavy rent in body bags for all the land he has stolen. in gaza, we see a record number of kiddies murdered in one day by the cowardly zionist filth in another massacre supported, encouraged, armed and funded by the vile trump regime, which is now committing similar coordinated crimes on its own account in yemen. the resistance will only intensify. chumpo will soon start a new war with iran.
to comply with the demands of his zionist masters. this will break the jewsa and finally bring an end to its global empire of terror. and all its assorted jackals, poodles and leeches will go down with it. the rule of the golden billion will disappear into the dustbin of history as it declines into destitution and irrelevance, like all empires before it. the martyred children of gaza and lebanon are the catalyst for change leading to a better world.
if the zionist mental ideal is not revised within the jewish population , you will still have a group of paranoid people who think they have misplaced devine right . what ever that is , they will write it and repeat .
the zionists/ globalists will never rule the world the from israel as they plan. though they have american bombs this war has become spiritual a realm where the zionists serve satan and are only supported by beasts a war that they can not win.
they already rule the world through the democracies they created, starting with the u.s.. they have already gotten people to accept the godless government which has in turn given them power.
democracy is satan’s.
there is no true democracy on earth.
gaddafis libya may have been close to a democracy.
too bad their missiles are so feeble.
keep it up and rain death and mahem on the jews untill they are buried at 6 feet never to be missed.
remember when idiots at shitfront claimed hamas had 100,000 missiles ready to “level israel”…?
heheheh…fucking idiots…
all the shlomos in shitrael are currently scurrying like cockroaches into their funk hole shelters as rhe sirens wail incessantly.
so lebanon will protect itself and take it’s stolen land back from israel ? we will see , zionists will think it was thiers from the beginning of time , as they have written to themselves .
apparently moses had a crap there 5.000 years ago, or something, so the almighty gave it to the zios, allegedly. there’s no record of this at the land registry, however.
it funding and arming a zionist-promoted genocide, any u.s.-brokered ceasefire was intended to give the zionist entity a victory by diplomatic means that it could not achieve by military ones. even more obviously, the “cease-fire” was negotiated with hezbollah’s enemies in lebanon, with the group itself excluded.
“there are no immediate reports of casualties or damage.”
there are never any reports of casualties or damage because these rockets attacks are always israeli covert ops from within lebanon and gaza. the rockets are plastic, they have no explosive warhead so they look impressive as they fly into the night sky but once the fuel runs out they fall to the ground like a harmless spent firework.
meanwhile, the idf held the lebanese government responsible for what it described as a “violation” of the ceasefire agreement brokered by the united states last november. it also vowed to respond to the attack “severely.”
this said by those had violated the ceasefire dozen times killing and destroying anything at will. such shameless criminals.
