In the early morning of November 19th, four rockets allegedly fired from Syria were intercepted by Israel’s Iron Dome defense system over the Golan Heights.
All of the projectiles were intercepted and there were no damages and no casualties, according to the Israeli side.
BREAKING: 4 launches were identified from Syria toward northern Israel.

After the incident, Israel’s Golan Regional Council said no special safety precautions would be put in place, following consultations with the military. The organization urged residents to keep to their routines.
Around the same time, local Syrian media reported that explosions were heard at Damascus airport, but there’s no other details provided.
Both reports, of the rockets launched towards Israel and the explosions at Damascus airport happened at roughly the same time.
The situation in Northern Israel has been calm for a while, but on November 18th, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) launched “surprise” military exercise in the area.
The drill, overseen by IDF Comptroller Lt. Gen. Ofer Sarig, is taking place in the Jezreel Valley and Upper Galilee and is to conclude on November 19th.
A military spokesperson said that IDF reservists were being called up and warned local residents to expect increased movement of emergency forces and military vehicles in the coming days.
The IDf claims that the drill will test the Northern Command’s “readiness and operational capabilities.”
This alleged northern border flareup came after the IDF and the Gaza-based Islamic Jihad group had an escalation in the week ending on November 17th. Israel launched a precision strike on Gaza, that killed Baha Abu al-Ata – an Islamic Jihad commander, and his wife.
At the same time, a target in Damascus was also struck, but Akram al-Ajour, another Islamic Jihad commander survived the attack. The IDF provided no comment on the Damascus strike.
Following that Islamic Jihad launched hundreds of rockets towards Israeli targets, to which Israel retaliated. The only victims were reported to be Palestinian civilians and Islamic Jihad members.
In August, Israel claimed that it had struck targets in Syria to thwart a drone attack by the Iranian Revolutionary Guards’ elite Quds Force. Syrian opposition activists reported three deaths in the attack.
