Rosoboronexport showcased for the first time the Supercam X4 and Goliath drones at the international high-level meeting for security officials that opened in the Russian capital, Moscow, on May 27.
“Rosoboronexport for the first time displays Supercam X4, Goliath, Karakurt-R and Boomerang quadcopters, as well as high-power fragmentation, incendiary and cumulative warheads which they release,” it said.
The Supercam X4 is a quadcopter reconnaissance drone with an endurance of 50 minutes and an operational range of up to five kilometers. The lighter Goliath quadcopter, which is also used for reconnaissance, has an endurance of 40 minutes and a range of around four kilometer.s
Meanwhile, the Karakurt-R, the smaller of the bunch, is a tube launched quadcopter that can stay in the air for around 20 minutes and operate within an operational range of just two kilometers on reconnaissance missions.
The range of the Boomerang, also a quadcopter, is said to be around 30 kilometers. Unlike other drones, this type is mainly used in attack missions as an FPV suicide drone.

Rosoboronexport display at the meeting in Moscow also featured the S-350M SKAT fixed-wing reconnaissance drone and KUB-2-1E loitering munition.
The S-350M SKAT can stay in the air for up to four hours and operate within a range of 100 kilometers, while the KUB-2-1E, which is capable of attacking static and moving targets with pinpoint accuracy, is said to have a range of up to 24 kilometers.

In addition to the drones, Rosoboronexport showed several counter-drone systems, including the latest Radescan-anti drone electronic warfare complex, which is built around an array of radars and other radio detectors along with an electro-optical system.
The complex is mainly meant to detect small drones, like quadcopters used in attack or reconnaissance. Such drones can be detected by the complex from up to three kilometers.
Most of the systems showcased at Rosoboronexport have been combat proven in the special military operation zone, where they were tested against Ukrainian forces.
The operation helped Russia make a major leap in drone technology within just three years. The country is now one of the largest drone producers in the world, with some sources estimating the production of just FPV suicide drones to be over 1,000 units a day.
