The United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO), a detachment of the Royal Navy, reported that two merchant vessels have been attacked west and southwest of the coast of the western Yemeni province of al-Hodeidah, with one of the ships having been damaged as a result of the attacks.
The first vessel was attacked 50 nautical miles southwest of al-Hodeidah, the UKMTO reported on March 14. The owner of the vessel has said two missiles had flown over the ship and detonated in the distance, adding that the crew was safe and the ship was not damaged. According to the UKMTO, the ship continued its way to the next port of call.
The other vessel was attacked 76 nautical miles west of al-Hodeidah and was damaged by a missile that hit it, the UKMTO reported on March 15.
“A merchant vessel has reported that they have been struck by a missile and the vessel has sustained some damage. The crew are reported safe and the vessel is proceeding to its next port of call,” the UKMTO said.
The reports came amid a series of attacks by the Houthis (Ansar Allah) in Yemen against Israel-affiliated vessels and others owned by the United States and the UK in the Red Sea and Gulf of Aden in response to the Israeli war and siege on the Gaza Strip.
The U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) said in a statement on March 15 that the Houthis fired two anti-ship ballistic missiles from Yemen at the Red Sea and two others in the direction of the Gulf of Aden a day earlier.
“There were no injuries or damage reported to U.S. or coalition ships,” the statement reads.
In the same statement, CENTCOM announced that its forces had destroyed nine anti-ship missiles and two unmanned aerial vehicles in Houthi-controlled areas of Yemen.
“It was determined these weapons presented an imminent threat to merchant vessels and U.S. Navy ships in the region, the command said. “These actions are taken to protect freedom of navigation and make international waters safer and more secure for U.S. Navy and merchant vessels.”
Yemen’s Al-Masirah TV, which is run by the Houthis, reported five “American-British strikes” on al-Hodeidah. One of the strikes hit the airport, while others struck sites in the area of al-Jah in the district of Bayt al-Faqih. No casualties were reported by the news channel.
The U.S. and the UK carried out hundreds of strikes against Houthi-controlled areas in Yemen in recent months. The strikes killed at least 34 people and wounded many others, according to recent remarks by the group’s leader Abdul-Malik al-Houthi.
Despite recent losses, al-Houthi warned on March 14 that his group is planning to attack vessels linked to Israel, the U.S. and the UK in the Indian Ocean, as they travel toward the Cape of Good Hope.

the american globalists do not need to go half way around the world to construct enemies they can do that from d.c. without a bomb mentality.
this is so popcorn worthy. no way can britain or america defeat yemen unless they use nuclear bombs. and from what a little birdie told me, yemen might be getting their hands on hypersonic missiles soon.
then it’s bye bye time for empire!
