Without the support given to Bashar Al Assad’s Government by both nations, crisis in the region would be even worse.
As stated by the Iranian political analyst Seyed Mohammad Marandi, dean of the School of International Studies of Teheran’s University, many countries in the region would have fallen upon the influence and occupation of extremist groups like the Islamic State or Al Qaeda and its affiliates without the opportune intervention of Russia and Iran.
Neighboring countries like Jordan and Lebanon would be dealing with serious difficulties to survive if Irak would have collapsed because of Syria’s surrendering to the terrorists, Marandi said.
He also claimed that coordinated efforts of Russia and Iran to restore stability in Syria are pretty remarkable when compared to what the US led coalition has achieved until now with their intervention and also with their despicable support to extremists in the region.
An alliance among Russia, Iran, Irak and Syria has made possible the creation of a common information center in Bagdad whose main objectives are to gather and analyze information regarding the situation in the Middle East and also about the antiterrorist campaign in the region, the distribution of these data and the further transmission of it to the operative members of the coalition.
