On the night of October 3, Russian and Ukrainian forces launched massive waves of drone strikes in each other’s rear areas. The Armed Forces of Ukraine targeted Russian western regions with more than a hundred of kamikaze UAVs. In their turn, Russian drones struck targets throughout Ukraine.
According to the official report by the Russian Ministry of Defense, Russian air defense forces intercepted and destroyed 113 Ukrainian UAVs in four Russian regions. In particular:
- 73 Ukrainian drones were destroyed in border Belgorod region;
- 25 drones in Voronezh region;
- 14 drones in war-torn Kursk region;
- 1 drone in border Bryansk region.
There was no damage reported by local sources. Another Ukrainian massive attack failed but the Ukrainian military does not stop. After the night attack, more Ukrainian drones targeted Russian border regions. In a day time, the Russian Ministry of Defense reported that at least two Ukrainian drones were destroyed in Kursk region and four more UAVs were destroyed in Belgorod region.
After failed attempts to reach targets with UAVs, the Armed Forces of Ukraine targeted the city of Kurchatov where the Kursk NPP is located.
In their turn, the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation continue daily strikes throughout Ukraine. On the night of October 3, Russian drones targeted strategic rear regions of the enemy in the central and western parts of Ukraine, while heavy bombs were pounding the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the war-torn eastern regions.
AT least three waves of explosions thundered in the Ukrainian capital and its region. One of the Russian targets was reportedly destroyed in the area of the town of Brovary.
Explosions were recorded in western Ukrainian regions of Rivne, Khmelnitsk and Ivano-Frankivsk, where military airfields presumably came under under Russian attack.
Military facilities of the Armed Forces of Ukraine were also reportedly struck in Poltava, Vinnitsa, Dnepropetrovsk, Cherkassy regions. Any details of the targets and damage are yet to be revealed.
As a result of the recent daily strikes, the central Kiev and northern Chernihiv air defense nodes of the Ukrainian defence are overloaded. Various military experts suppose, that Russians may use the weakened Ukrainian defense and launch devastating missile strikes in coming days.
Meanwhile, Russian strikes are pounding Ukrainian military reserves accumulates in Sumy, Kharkiv regions and tactical Ukrainian rear in the DPR.
The Russian Ministry of Defense confirmed destruction of Ukrainian military warehouse in the village of Razliv located northwest of Ugledar in the DPR, where Ukrainian forces are trying to build new lines of defense after the loss of Ugledar. The warehouse was destroyed by Russian FAB-3000 heavy bomb:
Another confirmed Russian strike destroyed Ukrainian point of temporary deployment of the 106th separate brigade of the Territorial Defense of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the village of Veliky Bobrik 19 km south-east of the city of Sumy. As a result of the strike of Russian heavy bomb, military vehicles and up to 30 Ukrainian servicemen were eliminated.
The Russian military preserves its dominance in the airspace, advancing on the battlefields.
