Sounds like a nice tool for bonding with muslim (or requiring muslim-savvy security staff) states over common security interests. It’s about time we get some real ground back for partially regained Soviet influence. Also, gives a nice new ring to the weak spin of Chechnia as a tourism region =D

Ahhh … So … what is the moral of this idea? So, Kadyrov has built himself a new amusement park. Is this the accurate interpretation? … Chechens have a distinct historical identity and a distinct language … from Russia. So, instead of Moscow granting enhanced autonomy to Chechenya, which would de facto equivalate with independence, Moscow is playing along with all sorts of gimmick solutions to keep a distinct people (but with a divergent religion) within its borders: they’re building mosques upon mosques, they are not sending Chechen fighters to Syria unless they are perfectly certain they will not defect to the militants and Daesh … Every now and then, Kadyrov throws a party for himself, invites Jean Claude Van Damme and Steven Seagal. … What about Dagestan?

You have to understand that Chechnya to Russia is like South Korea to the United States.

Don’t explain Russia to a guy with ukrainian/russian nickname, also the whole N.Caucasus is more like our Scotland.
