The Federal Security Service (FSB) has cracked down an ISIS cell in the Russian region of Tatarstan, the FSB press department reported on October 30.
The cell was eliminated in the town of Naberezhnye Chelny. The FSB detained 7 ISIS members and 11 persons influenced by them as well as a weapons cache. The FSB captured fire arms, ammunition and propaganda materials.
According to the FSB, the terrorists were planning to carry out a series of terrorist attacks and then join their counterparts in Syria.
During the first 9 months of 2018, the FSB prevented 15 terrorist attacks in Russia.
