The Russian military has deployed military helicopters and Pantsir-S air defense systems in northern Syria, the Russian Defense Ministry’s Zvezda TV reported on November 14. The report says that Mi-8 and Mi-35 helicopters and air-defense systems were deployed in the al-Qamishly airport area.
Russian Mi-8 and Mi-35 helicopters are currently involved in the patrols along the Turkish border in northeastern Syria. The goal of the patrols is to prevent a further escalation in the region.
Earlier reports appeared, that Russia may have been planning to turn the al-Qamishly airport into a military facility. The recent developments demonstrate that even if these particular reports were wrong, the Russians are already using the airprot for military purposes.
Great, wonderful news.

Like I wrote few days ago when SAA and Russians liberated north Syria; they should establish Hmeymim like base in central or north Syria and take full control over that area including control of NATO air raids coming from Qatar, S. Arabia and Persian Gulf. But this way is still good…step by step…
