Russia Facilitates Deal To Move Grains From Turkish-Held Grain Silos In Northern Raqqa (Video, Photos)

Sergei Novikov/TASS

Russia has brokered a deal to move tons of grains from the al-Shakrak silos in northern Raqqa to Syrian government areas, RusVesna.SU reported on February 19.

Turkish forces captured the silos during Operation Peace Spring in 2019. However, they were not able to loot the grains stored in the silos, which are located right on the frontline with the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF).

According to RusVesna.SU, tons of grains are being moved out of the silos. The Russian Military Police monitored the process.

Eight trucks carried the first batch of grains, estimated to be 400 tons, from the silos. The trucks were escorted by a unit of the Russian Military Police.

Under the deal, the grains should be moved to government-held areas. Nevertheless, a number of sources claimed that the grains are being taken to SDF-held areas. The grains are likely being stored there temporarily.

Kurdish sources revealed that 16,000 tons of wheat and 25,000 tons of barley were stored in the silos by the SDF’s self-administration in mid-2019.

The new deal is an example of how Russia has been working to stabilize northeastern Syria and resolve any issue there through diplomacy.

400 metric tonnes of grain in 8 trucks = 50 tonnes per truck. That does not seem right to me. Grain is light and bulky as well.

Even a 44 tonne gross artic with a bulk trailer would struggle to carry more than 30 tonnes of grain, I think

Willing Conscience (The Truths

Good point, most of the trucks in the video only had a single axle configuration which means they’d be lucky to carry 25 tons each, probably way less, but there was one truck with a trailer attached, so maybe that particular truck and trailer combo could carry the 50 tons required to make the numbers work out, but it was only one trailer truck I spotted, all the rest were just trucks with no trailers, so mmm, maybe someone made a boo boo.

FlorianGeyer

I think you are right. I am told that your wife thinks the same :)

Willing Conscience (The Truths

Yes the girlfriend is always saying that, but lucky for me she’s still here after 15 years. :]

FlorianGeyer

You have trained her well then :)

Willing Conscience (The Truths

Or maybe she’s trained me well. :[

Major Cuts to F-35 Orders Under Consideration: Air Force Chief Wants a Simpler ‘4+ Generation’ Fighter to Replace It ….. proposed cuts to F-35A orders by the U.S. Air Force would entail reducing the planned fleet size from 1,763 aircraft to 1,050 or less – a decline of over 40%. The Air Force has simultaneously considered making orders for the ageing but reliable and non-complex F-16

In other words Flop-35 Americans ere admitting that F-35 is CRAP And VERY expensive one in flight hours And maintenance ( $ 31.000 per hour!) https://militarywatchmagazine.com/article/major-cuts-to-f-35-orders-under-consideration-air-force-chief-wants-a-simpler-4-generation-fighter-to-replace-it

Thats terrible news. The US needs 10,000 F35’s

On a more positive note. There is an interactive globe that spins can zoom in live to EVERY radio station in the world in real time. Its brilliant and free.

The grain that the SDF [illegaly] owned before the Turks invaded is going to be stored at SDC/SDF facilities before it’s eventually moved to Government held facilities, mmmm. So does that does that mean half the grain they’re moving to the SDC/SDF facilities is going to stay in the SDC/SDF facilities while the other half ends up in government held facilities, it probably does, but it’s still a win for both parties concerned, because having half of something is still better than having all of nothing.

The main producers af corn for bread in that area are Kurds themself. Unless they are paid, the breads are for theirs.

I all see You totally ignore, they has not eaten it even before the Turks was there. So they are not as You in a very filthy way insinuate. It was guarded.

I might remind You that ISIS took all for bread they could for nothing and stored only for themself better then even Hitler could.

Willing Conscience (The Truths

There aren’t that many Kurds living in Ar Raqqah so most of the grain is probably Arab grain, so I really don’t know what the hell you’re going on about. The SDC sells grain to the Syrian Government and allows the locals to do the same if they can get a good price, so no one’s stealing anything from anyone, you’re getting all worked up over nothing. The Russians stopped your mate Erdogan from stealing it so I couldn’t be happier, but I’d still be checking it thoroughly to make sure Erdogan didn’t poison it before it was recovered. And if your side moved out of the areas they now illegally occupy in Ar Raqqah, those farmers could get back to doing what they should be doing, growing more grain, but they can’t at the moment because your halfwit mates are stopping them.
