The Russian Aerospace Forces (VKS) launched a new anti-missile missile defense system, the Defense Ministry told reporters.
The tests took place at the Sary-Shagan test site in Kazakhstan.
Major General Sergei Grabchuk, commander of the VKS missile defense formation, said that “after a series of tests, the new missile defense missile system has reliably confirmed the inherent characteristics, and the combat crews have successfully completed the task, hitting a conditional target with a given accuracy.”
As previously reported in the Ministry of Defense, in 2017-2021, ten test launches of a new anti-missile missile took place from the Sary-Shagan test site.
After one of the tests, Igor Korotchenko, a member of the public council under the Russian Ministry of Defense, told RIA Novosti that the adoption of a new anti-missile missile would significantly increase the capabilities of the missile defense system of Moscow and the Central Industrial Region.
According to him, this refers to the 53T6M anti-missile, which is intended to replace the old underground-launched anti-missiles, which currently provide the operation of the A-135 system.
There were few reports in regard to this system, and the most recent one is from June 2019.
Back then the Russian Defense Ministry published a video of a test launch of a new missile defense system. It was, more or less, exactly the same test.
The tests took place at the Sary-Shagan training ground in Kazakhstan. The footage shows how the deployment and preparation of the rocket for launch occurs. The very moment of launch can be observed from several angles.
According to Colonel Vladimir Sergienko, the deputy commander of the missile defense formation of the Aerospace Forces, the missile hit a conditional target with a given accuracy, confirming all the inherent characteristics.
Viktor Murakhovsky, a member of the expert council at the board of the Military-Industrial Commission of the Russian Federation, military expert, spoke about this missile on Sputnik radio.
“This is a so-called short-range intercept missile, now it is being upgraded and is being used to equip our missile defense system. It is distinguished by increased speed, more powerful warhead, it provides reliable interception of the corresponding class of targets, which is confirmed by all tests,” said Viktor Murakhovsky.
One year earlier, the exact same test was also carried out in Kazakhstan.

The Russians make the best missiles in the world. Yes they got a lot of secrets from Nazis. In America we also got their secrets however it died with them apparently?We were not able to expand that knowledge.
