The Russian Defense Ministry has resumed snap officer courses for contract soldiers, the Russian media reports.
According to reports, soldiers, sergeants, master sergeants and warrant officers with civil higher education can pass a half-year course and become lieutenants. First of all, the Russian Army is interested in getting infantry and tank officers.
Currently, this effort is ongoing on a pilot basis.
The restoration of these courses is another signal that Russia is checking and evaluating its capabilities to mobilize and expand officer personnel of the ground forces in case of the escalation of the situation along its borders.
This sounds like the Russian equivalent to OCS.
