Russia responded to the recent Ukrainian strikes with NATO missiles in its border Bryansk region with another devastating attack on Ukrainian military and energy infrastructures. On the night of January 15th, the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation launched massive strikes with drones and missiles throughout Ukraine.
The Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation confirmed the attack and concluded that “all designated targets were struck”.
‘This morning, the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation launched a group strike with precision weapons and unmanned aerial vehicles against critically important gas and energy infrastructure facilities that support the operation of the military-industrial complex of Ukraine. The target of the strike has been achieved,’ the report reads.
According to Zelenskiy, there were more than 40 missiles launched in today’s strike, including the ballistic one. At least 30 of them were allegedly destroyed. The targets included gas infrastructure and energy facilities., but as always Zelenskiy forgot to mention the military infrastructure.
The attack lasted for hours. At night, numerous Russian kamikaze UAVs entered the airspace of Ukraine, distracting Ukrainian air defense and destroying some targets. In the early morning hours, hypersonic and cruise missiles entered battle.
The Air Force of Ukraine declared that the Russian Aerospace Forces launched air-to-ground fire weapons from at least seven aircraft. Tu-95MS, Tu-22M3 and MiG-31K, carrier of the Kinzhal hypersonic missiles, were reportedly deployed in the attack used. The Russian military also reportedly launched its sea-based Kalibr missiles.
Russian strikes were reported in different regions, including in Kiev, Khmelnitsk, Kirovograd, Poltava, Vinnitsa, Ivano-Frankivsk, Kharkiv, Ternopil, Dnepropetrovsk.
The Western Lviv region reportedly suffered the most. The Ukrainian authorities confirmed damage to some infrastructure facilities in the areas of Dragobychi and Stryi.

Russian missiles reportedly struck the Bilche-Volitsko-Ugersk underground gas storage facility located near Stryi. This is one of the key facilities of the Ukrainian energy system that came under several Russian attacks since the beginning of the Special Military Operation. The Ukrainian media are trying to hide the real damage and report that “only the ground equipment is damaged, the gas storage facility is working.”
Highlighting attack on the gas storage facility, which also provides for the needs of the Ukrainian military, Ukrainian authorities are hiding more Russian strikes on Ukrainian military bases. According to local reports, a military facility came under heavy attack in Sambor in the same Lviv region. The facility reportedly hosts the 675th Separate Radar Company, the 703rd Engineer Regiment, the 704th Separate RKhBZ Regiment. Large military depots A-0807, Kalinov military airfield, which hosts the 7th separate Army Aviation Regiment, are also located here. This airfield and the military bases often welcomed the NATO military in the Western Ukrainian region.
The energy system of Ukraine suffered more damage as a result of the strikes in other regions. Explosions were reported in the area of the Krivy Rih CHP in the Dnepropetrovsk region. Emergency power outages continue across the country.
According to preliminary reports, one of the goals of the attack was to inflict more damage to Ukrainian airfields in different regions. The targets included Mirgorod in the Poltava region and Starokonstantinov in the Khmelnitsk region. Another military airfield in Vasilkova near Kiev and Kolomyia in the Ivano-Frankivsk region also reportedly came under attacks.
A series of Russian strikes were recorded in the capital of Ukraine and its region. Explosions thundered in the areas of Brovary and Borispil. An energy station caught fire in the center of Kyiv. There was no Russian strike reported but the possible reason is the ongoing interruption of energy supplies and overload of the energy system.
A series of large explosions thundered in the industrial zone in Kharkiv, which is pounded by Russian bombs and missiles on a regular basis. The local sources confirmed Russian strikes in the towns of Lubny in the Poltava region and Shepetovka in the Khmelnitsk region.
Russian strikes in different areas are yet to be confirmed and more details about the damage are yet to be revealed but it is clear that the attack was successful. On the other hand, the Russian Ministry of Defense reported that only three Ukrainian UAVs were destroyed in the Russian Belgorod and Tambov regions last night. Ukrainian strikes resulted in no damage.

to put this into perspective and this is dutch nato secretary general mark rutte speaking europe does not have the industrial muscle of russia , what takes a year or more to produce takes russia a couple of months because there is no red tape .

tit for tat so russia revenged one volley and now stopped. russia waiting for ukraine to stidy new targets and to receive more stormshadows and then attack key russian installations again. why russia does not sustain revenge on key installations for every day to get zelensky and nato to understand and come to the table. only then stop.
