Russia & SDF Discuss Deployment Of Syrian Border Guards East Of Euphrates

By: sdf-press.com

The Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) gave their initial approval to a Russian plan that would prevent Turkey from attacking northeastern Syria by deploying units of Syrian Arab Army (SAA) border guards on the Syrian-Turkish border east of the Euphrates River, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) said in a report on December 23.

“The debate and discussion remain about who will manage the areas that are under the control of the Syria Democratic Forces east of Euphrates,” the SOHR added.

According to the UK-based monitoring group, a delegation of the SDF will met with Russian officials in Moscow in the upcoming hours to discuss the plan.

The surprise U.S. decision to withdraw all American troops from Syria, which was announced on December 19, has forced the SDF to initiate a new round of talks with Damascus on the future of the northeastern part of the country. Turkey is currently planning to invade the SDF-held region under the pretext of fighting terrorism.

If the plan is agreed, it would allow to fully secure northeastern Syria and may encourage the SDF and the Damascus government to hold serious talks on the future of the country without any foreign interference.

Erdogan will not accept and will crush like coconuts

FlorianGeyer

The only coconuts that will be crushed are your bollocks.

The dynamics are changing and even Turkey does not wish to be embroiled in an unnecessary war that the US intends to bankrupt Turkey and portend a regime change with a US/Israeli puppet again.

Moursal Admaj

Dear syria will not be the same even russkies understand that . The one solution will be that everyone should pull out even Russians.

PZIVJ

Why should Russia leave, they came to control the Jihadist rats coming over the Turkish border. Leopard 2 in Syria, I think airstrike or ISIS did a little extra work on this one. :) https://uploads.disquscdn.com/images/a3c247df98e526004828fa6d0aae76d77aeea60825c602e1bd0eea0364e5623a.jpg

FlorianGeyer

Your dad should have done that.

Hasbara Hunter

WTF…. ofcourse Syria Won’t be the Same!!!! Because a Bunch of Western Created & Supported Headchoppers & Their ZIONATO Airforce Destroyed The Country and its People….Hang, Draw & Quarter all Filthy Traitors, Conspirators & Perpetrators in IsraHell, America…Great Britain….France…Wahhabistan and the Rest of Europe

The One Solution will be: The Total Destruction of IsraHell (Albert Pike-Style)….a Coup d’Etat in Washington….Financial Capital of the World London stripped of all its Financial Assets… and Shitloads of Hangings…. now that sounds as a Solution….

Tudor Miron

Russkies understand much more than you’re able to comprehend and reality on the gound proves it.

Bob

That is your fantasy – not reality. Syria will regain its territorial integrity – the biggest obstacle to this has been US presence in east but now US pull-out is formalized – Syria and Russia are in it for the long term and time is on their side.

occupybacon

If the airspace will be controlled by the coalition, he won’t make a move

Tudor Miron

If :) C’mon my ukro brother, wake up to reality.

occupybacon

Why shouldn’t I be honest, unlike you I don’t know everything about the future.

Tudor Miron

Honest? :) Do you even know what that means?

occupybacon

Happy Christmas! don’t take yourself too seriously ;)

Tudor Miron

Thank you. Счастливого Рождества.

occupybacon

Well “Partly devoted” sounds ok. Thank you too.

Bob

What ‘coalition’ exactly, NATO is deeply divided over Syria, the only major NATO member nearby is neighboring Turkey, who are openly hostile to US/French/UK intentions to work with YPG Kurds. Fantasist.

Willing Conscience (The Truths

Erdogan’s history, all the other nations involved in Syria decided back in June that Erdogan has to go to end the bloodshed. He’s on the way out now, but you and most others haven’t realized it yet. Turkey’s broke and can’t afford to fight a war, the domestic economy is on the verge of collapse and Erdogan can’t afford to do anything at all. lets see how well he does if he invades with no money in his pockets, if he goes for the Syrian oilfields to help pay for his war, the US, Russia, France will all stop him, not help him, like most people falsely believe. His own people will hang him from a tree in a public square eventually, when his 60% approval rating turns into a 60% disapproval rating, after he loses his war in Syria and his economy has collapsed. You’re betting on the wrong horse buddy.

dutchnational

Might be a good idea and might even work. No that those border ( russian?) guards can stop a large scale attack by themselves, but Erdogan knows Russia will retaliate in an excessive way, like in 2015 when Turkey downed a Russian plane. He cannot think US will save him as Trump has no control over finances. When it costs money, the house will decide and that is now democrat.

Hasbara Hunter

Turkey and Russia are operating together…since quite a while

Russian Masterstroke. Get the weasels out of their burrows, then slowly but surely exterminate them

Tudor Miron

Nice to see someone able to observe the process rather than “current states”.

jorge

Antoun, et voilà, excellentes nouvelles!

John

This is very encouraging news. I hope it is true and that it works out.

Jesus

“””The debate and discussion remain about who will manage the areas that are under the control of the Syria Democratic Forces east of Euphrates,” the SOHR added.”””

The eastern Eufrates territory belongs to Syria, and SAA should manage the territory, Kurds being the auxiliaries to assist SAA.

jorge

It’s probable they will get some kind of local autonomic governance, because several years ago the syrian government made that proposition.

Jesus

Some form of local autonomic governance will be fine and agreeable to both sides.

ecald12

Let’s see how this unfolds. The Syrian gov’t needs to re-eestablish its presence east of the Euphrates, asap. Otherwise, the partition might be permanent.

Tudor Miron

Partition is not on the table anymore. No point in jerky moves now – careful, well thought out but deliberate action. That’s what is required. I hope that people will start to realize now that most of the things that heppen in Syria within last 3 years are going according to the Russian general stuff plan – long term plan.

Barba_Papa

Yet there has been no shortage whatsoever of crybabies who were going PUTIN SOLD SYRIA OUT! And to whom nothing more then starting WW3 over Eastern Syria would suffice.

Hasbara Hunter

Disinfo agents will always be around… many different perspectives aren’t bad either…. just gotta search for the Sneaky Liars….My experience in here is very good…. many intelligent & Good Folks…. And I have seen the real Traitors that came to score or sell their nonsense been taken down plenty of times…The Truth will prevail… even if it takes some time…

The Kurds have a future INSIDE syrian state……….the turkish and jihadists are not a future!!!

Ivanus59

See how Americans leaving instantly results in progress towards reconciliation in Syria!

Jens Holm

So far I believe none of that. Much like a bad translation to ME of Animal farm. Wasnt it swines were winners.

PZIVJ

Makes perfect sense for SDF to deal with Russia first Jens. Recent statement from SDC: “Daraar made it known that despite no promises from the French, the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) have more than one option available to handle the situation”

Sinbad2

Now now don’t be a bad loser, I’m sure your team will get the chance to fkup another country.

jorge

Hummm, I don’t know if they will have the chance…

Hasbara Hunter

I know you for quite some time now…. but I never believed anything you said…We Won Jens….WE WON….and you LOST…so please Shut up… grab your Popcorn and Watch how this movie ends….it will be a big surprise….believe me if I tell you that Kosher Pigs can Swim…

Skagos

Is this news even real? SDF many times said that they won’t let goverment control ANY of the cities or villages. Only that they will let SAA border guards be stationed here and there. I love SouthFront but such news are just wishful thinking. In the end what we call SDF follows KCK’s main principles. An independent, pro-Israel Kurdistan that consists of Iraq, Syria, Turkey and Iran’s territory.

Tudor Miron

Just wait and see what happens.

Hasbara Hunter

There will be NO independent Kurdistan….they could have been Granted special Rights…. because they COULD have been Heroes but they Chose to become TRAITORS…..and Traitors have no Rights….

jorge

Merijn, as you said, there are bad kurds and there are good Kurds. I think that the most part of the syrian kurds are not Ocalan boys.

Hasbara Hunter

The Kurds shouldn’t be persecuted neither…. they haven’t really gone to War against the Syrians….their choices were very Bad & without any Reason…..Reconciliation can be a pretty easy proces in their case….but had they chosen differently the rewards would have been much bigger….

Skagos

Most of them ARE Ocalan boys because in the last 6-7 years they have been indoctrinated in such ways. Now they are not different from the jihadists in Idlib.

Selfish Dave

Trump gave the job of cleaning up the remaining 1% of Isis to Turkey, who must now protect the Sunni majority from Assad and Putin, and to Putin, who has Isis problems of his own in Russia.. Or did you forget that we are not in Syria to help our enemies to defeat their enemies? … …We don’t need any troops in Syria to make our presence felt, and we can re-insert them if the Turks and/or Russians try to screw us. Actually, Trump just screwed the Turks into a bigger role, which they didn’t want, and screwed the Russians into working with the Turks, and against Assad, in part of Syria. In the North East of Syria, Russia may even be pitted against the Turks to protect the Kurds. There is far more here than meets the jaundiced eye of the MSM. Who knew politics was so complicated? …Trump and Mattis are playing poker as a team; you are not going to see their hands or figure out what they’re up to. Probably General Mattis is working with Trump to insure that our enemies won’t make (temporarily?) withdrawing/protecting our troops look like a major tactical error? How would you leftists know? Is anybody leaking Trump’s “inside the administration” secrets to the Hill, or the rest of the MSM? …Sit back, our guys are out of harm’s way for the time being, its R&R time for our side. Let’s see what the Turks and the Russians will do now that the ball is in their court. Or did you think our troops should be cannon fodder for the Neo-Con’s undesirable “Permanent State of War.” Funny how the Neo-Cons started out as Trotskyite Marxists advocating permanent revolution. Funny how the millstones of justice grind exceedingly slow but grind exceedingly fine.

Hasbara Hunter

Send my regards to Langley….it is very Great the Yangeese & Their Headchopper-Trainers Pissed Off out of Syria…. Time to Burn the Sorry Ass Remnants of ISISRAEL

Tudor Miron

Dave… I really feel sorry for you. Waking up from illusions is always tough.

1691

You are right except that I don’t feel sorry for selfish dave and its kind.

Tudor Miron

Merry Christmas! Wish you happy holidays, from Russia with love.

Nature abhors a vacuum.

Heard anything recently about an SAA push into Idlib?

The Turks and the Iranians and the Russians had something to talk about when they all three perceived the US keeping them out of Syria east of the Euphrates but now the calculations are totally different and these three, who have incompatible strategic interests will no longer have a common adversary to coalesce around.

Result: Russia will curry favor of the Kurds to Turkey’s distress and Iran and its proxies will provide zero support for SAA move into Idlib.

Instead Iran and its proxies will focus on Israel which will be incompatible with Russian strategic objectives.

Disintegration.

jorge

Politics, society is not nature, as you are going to see.

Hasbara Hunter

IsraHell should be the Focus of the World…. this Illegal Occupation should end A.S.A.P…. they are Dangerous Folks a Threat to the Region & the Entire Planet…. For they are Technologically Highly Advanced Kid Killing Troublemakers & Deceivers….with Nukes… Americans should take care of Washington, the Deep State & the Khazarian Banksters…

RichardD

This is a win, win, win situation for everyone involved, except the Jews. The Kurds don’t die and have their homes and cities destroyed, or have to deal with Turkish occupation. The Syrians expand their footprint and begin the process of recovering the NE from the US and Israelistani Kurds. And the Turks get an end to the partition project that poses a big threat to their national security, and Syrian control of the Kurd problem who will manage it so that the Turks don’t have to intervene as they are in Iraq.
