On the night of September 5, the Russian Armed Forces carried out a series of strikes against military and industrial facilities in eight regions of Ukraine. According to Ukraine’s Air Force, the attack included Iskander-M/KN-23 ballistic missiles, as well as 167 strike UAVs and Parody-type decoy drones. Ukrainian air defense systems did not record any intercepts of the missiles.
The primary targets were metallurgical plants in Dnipropetrovsk Region that supply Ukraine’s defense industrial base, as well as logistics centers and power substations in various regions.
Targets struck by region
Dnipropetrovsk Region
Strikes were carried out against two of the region’s largest metallurgical enterprises: the Kametstal plant in Kamianske (Dniprodzerzhynsk) and the Dnipro Metallurgical Plant. Both are major suppliers of metal products for Ukraine’s military production.

Additionally, a drone manufacturing facility in Dnipropetrovsk was struck using Geran drones.
Kyiv Region
On September 5, a logistics center used by the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the settlement of Chayky, on the western outskirts of Kyiv, was struck.
The previous day, the following targets were hit in Kyiv Region:

The Sviatopetrovsky logistics center, used for storing military property.

Two fuel storage and distribution sites for the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the military town of Blystavytsia at Hostomel airfield.

A signals and radio-technical intelligence center in the settlement of Brovary.
Odesa Region
In Odesa Region, the following targets were struck:

In the port of Chornomorsk, the following were hit:

A dry-cargo vessel carrying weapons and military cargo for the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

Two additional dry-cargo vessels and one container ship struck by Geran-4 Seeker reactive attack drones.
In the port of Odesa, an additional dry-cargo vessel was struck.
Mykolaiv Region
In the region, the following were hit:

The Epicentr logistics center, used for storing military property.

The Mykolaivska power substation.
Zaporizhzhia Region
In Zaporizhzhia, a heavy strike hit a truck parking lot.
Over the course of September 4–5, strikes were also conducted against targets in Sumy, Kharkiv, Zaporizhzhia, Kherson, Chernihiv, Poltava, and Cherkasy Regions, as well as against targets in Zhytomyr and in the Black Sea.
On the afternoon of September 5, Russian Presidential Spokesman Dmitry Peskov stated that Vladimir Putin had ordered a halt to strikes on Kyiv starting at midnight for a period of three days. This decision was linked to the preparation and holding of talks with U.S. negotiators in the capital.
