Russia’s two first helicopter carrier warships will be laid at a shipyard in Crimea in the spring of 2020, state-run news agency TASS reported citing own sources.

The first two Russian universal landing ships (LHD) will be laid down at the Zaliv shipyard in Crimea in May 2020, according to two anonymous sources.

“Two LHDs with a displacement of up to 15 thousand tons are planned for the first time in Russian history at the Zaliv shipyard in Kerch in 2020,” one of the agency’s sources said.

He added that the lead ship is planned to be handed over to the fleet before the completion of the current state armament program, by the end of 2027.

Another source also said that “the laying of both ships will take place in May 2020.” He confirmed that each will have a displacement of up to 15 thousand tons. The warships, he said, will be able to carry more than 10 helicopters of various classes on board, and will also receive a large docking chamber for landing boats.

The sources further said that “the development of a technical project for new ships is in the final stage, after its completion, in the coming months, a contract for the construction of the LHD will be signed.”

Earlier, another source in the shipbuilding industry told TASS that no later than the end of 2019, the Ministry of Defense would complete the formation of a tactical and technical task for the first Russian universal landing ships.

According to that source, it was planned to build and hand over the lead LHD to the customer within the framework of GPV-2027, and have it in serial production – by the beginning of the 2030s.

The Zaliv factory in Kerch has a slipway for building ships up to 300 m long and up to 50 m wide, which allows it to build ships with a displacement of more than 150 thousand tons.

Universal landing ships, also called helicopter carriers, are capable of carrying a large grouping of heavy helicopters for various purposes (up to 16 helicopters from Mistral and more than 30 from American type Wasp), and also carry from several hundred to a thousand or more marines.

In addition, the LHD has a dock for speedboats, and other small vessels, to ensure landing and the transport of armored vehicles.

If the reports are true, these ships would become the largest ships in the Russian Black Sea Fleet, and they will also be capable of operating in the Mediterranean.

In addition, Crimea will receive much needed investment, the shipping industry would be revitalized and many jobs would be created.

The Kerch shipyard has not yet received official documents on preparations for the start of construction. The head of USC Rakhmanov said that a final decision has not yet been made. And TASS itself said that the information wasn’t confirmed.

Separately, satellite imagery (and photographs) show that in addition to working on its 3rd aircraft carrier, China is also constructing two new LHD Type 075.

These ships are aimed at strengthening the capabilities of the Chinese fleet for operations abroad related to covering the expanding political, economic and military positions of China in Eurasia and Africa.

Ukraine will scrap them when they get crimea back and this junk is sitting there with the rest of the scrap .

Zionism = EVIL

Russia, Russia and more Russia butthurt Uki hohol peasant :)

Nosferatu

How are they going to get Crimea back? The people there dont want to go back to UA. But seriuosly tell me at least one realistic option how is UA going to get Crimea back.

AM Hants

They will send a train, full of Nazi thugs, to Crimea. Only, the Nazi thugs, will get frightened by the Crimean self defence forces, welcoming party, and stop the train, in order to flee. Just like they did, back in March 2014.

Part of the Putin Crimea Documentary that seriously made me laugh. The ghost train, that the Nazi thugs fled, owing to the prospect of being greeted by the people of Crimea, who knew they were coming.

Nosferatu

yes i have seen it. It was great.

AM Hants

I seriously cracked up laughing, when they featured the ghost train. The picture of the so called ‘hard nuts’, running from a group of Crimean senior citizens, waiting for a train to roll in, was too funny to ignore. OK, perhaps they were not senior citizens, in the greeting party, but, fits the narrative, a few years down the line.

Nosferatu

exactly. A great documentary it was

Jakke1899

Could you provide a link for that documentary, please?

AM Hants

EXCLUSIVE: The famous Russian documentary on Crimea with Putin FINALLY with SUBS… https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3Mw4Y9jRwCQ

Begins with the Korsun Massacre. Around 38 minutes, how to get a protest started, courtesy of US tax payer funded NGO training. Around 44 minutes, how Ukraine expected the Tatars to live. Around 50 minutes, the ghost train is heading for Crimea and the welcoming committee. Around 57 minutes, how Kiev planned to take the airport.

Around 1 hour into the video, shows the bravery of the Crimean Self Defence Forces, when facing the traitors of Crimea, who soon went running. Remember, the Crimean Self Defence Forces, only had shovel handles for weapons, when faced in front of a firing squad. What happened next? The little green men had turned up and the Ukraine SBU Forces and police had fled. Commandos from the Black Sea Fleet, turned up, just in time, as the Ukraine SBU Forces and police, were going to shoot the Crimean Self Defence Forces, who just had shovel handles for weapons.

Around 1 hour and 25 minutes: USS Donald Cook meets Bastion. Have you ever seen an Aegis Destroyer do a figure of 8 in the Black Sea?

Around two hours and six minutes, the order from the NATO Rapid Forces, to take Crimea. It was classified, till a year prior to the documentary. The NATO unit, called the Unit of Feodosia, operating in a non-NATO nation. There again, NATO were expecting to move into Sevestapol, were they not? Alliance Code L0318, meaning advanced aircraft gunners. So who were the NATO airstrikes aimed at? Why were they in contact with the US General Consulate in Kiev, who together with the US Embassy, were issuing direct instructions, to use force against the people of Feodosia.

Jakke1899

Thank you.

AM Hants

My pleasure, I share the video often, as it is so interesting. Plus, it mentions what the MSM leaves out.

grumpy_carpenter

I’m sure that somewhere in the multiverse they already have but unfortunately in this world it’s going to be a pretty tall order for a country whose economy is based on the export of strippers, hookers and mail order brides unless their plan is to destroy Russia with nasty STD’s.

4 months to go until Nordstream 2 is on line and Russia turns off the gas to Ukraine.

J Ramirez

And what are you getting from Santa this year? Dumbass

Bob

Its one thing that you’re an obnoxious and immature troll, but the fact you are also completely self delusional makes you a genuinely tragic case.

AM Hants

Get Crimea back?

Do turkeys vote for Christmas?

When Krushchev helped himself to Crimea, following a 10 minute lunch break meeting, with 13 of 27 members of senate, was not exactly legal, now was it?

1954 transfer of Crimea…

‘…On 27 June 2015, the Office of the Prosecutor General of the Russian Federation accepted the request of the leader of A Just Russia party, Sergey Mironov, to evaluate legitimacy of 1954 transfer of Crimea and stated that the transfer violated both the Constitution of the Russian SFSR and the Constitution of the Soviet Union. The text of the document signed by Russian Deputy Prosecutor General Sabir Kehlerova Mironov stated: “Neither the Constitution of the RSFSR or the USSR Constitution provide powers of the Presidium Supreme Soviet of the USSR for the consideration of the changes in the constitutional legal status of the Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic, members of the union republics. In view of the above, the decision adopted in 1954 by the Presidium of the Supreme Soviets of the RSFSR and the Soviet on the transfer of the Crimean region of the RSFSR to the USSR, did not correspond to the Constitution (Fundamental Law) of the RSFSR and the Constitution (Fundamental Law) of the USSR.”[10]

Complications of the “personal gesture”..’ https://www.revolvy.com/topic/1954%20transfer%20of%20Crimea&item_type=topic?cr=1

FlorianGeyer

You really are on form today, AM. :)

AM Hants

Haha, need to get back to life, but, find it addictive. Plus, too much going on at the moment, to keep away.

FlorianGeyer

Well, I have to feed my horse, Hans, again now and then its bedtime as I am off out with Hans and the horsebox for a jolly tomorrow.

AM Hants

Give Hans a carrot from me, ow whatever is in his diet treat wise. Enjoy your jolly tomorrow and is it ‘eventing’ that you specialise in?

FlorianGeyer

No, I used to show jump (badly) and compete in Hunter Trials and Team Chasing (reasonably). I am now mostly a Happy Hacker + 5 or 6 Skill at Arms on horseback displays a year ( competently).

Hans likes Waitrose carrots, so I will get some on your behalf :)

AM Hants

Cheers. Bet you find time with Hans, seriously relaxing.

Could be out of order, whilst not meaning to be, with regards having control of a stallion. Do like the beauty of a horse, especially finding them so relaxing and at one with the world.

A friend of mine, would crack me up laughing, with regards the personality and antics of her horse, called William. She then took me riding through Epping Forest, on one of her friends horses. Well, fortunately I was supple at the time, as the horse wanted to check out my lumbar dancing skills. As she decided to speedily trot through the trees, with my mate cracked up laughing, but, impressed, that I managed to hold on. Must admit, I thoroughly enjoyed the experience.

FlorianGeyer

When I go across the fields on a Jolly, it is Han’s day out as well, so he stops when he wants to eat. :) . He is a retired Grade ‘A’ showjumper. I have had him for 15 years now. Never had a stallion. They are too much hassle :)

AM Hants

Sounds a character. Hope you are both enjoying your jolly?

FlorianGeyer

He certainly is a ‘character’.

Tiresia Branding

Hey Tonto, wake up … someone has scrapped Ukraine and wasn’t Russia

A Delegation of the US Visited Crimea and Will Now Convey the Truth About What They Saw Back Home… https://www.stalkerzone.org/a-delegation-of-the-us-visited-crimea-and-will-now-convey-the-truth-about-what-they-saw-back-home/

Thom Kinoshta

better idea, Russia annex Canada.

Zionism = EVIL

Ideal for support Russia’s allies in the region, including Syria and Iran. Much better than the expensive and rusted froggy Mistral.

d'Artagnan

Russia should have never trusted France, which is a US vassal state and not an independent actor.

d'Artagnan

The USSR had a very robust shipbuilding capacity and now Russia is wisely reinvesting in domestic naval shipbuilding. These multi-purpose carriers are excellent quick response in the coming asymmetrical wars on Russia’s frontiers.

Thom Kinoshta

The problem with the USSR large ships were built in Ukraine. Russia does not have a shipyard big enough to build an aircraft carrier/

Zionism = EVIL

Stay off the hooch, since Czarist era, Crimea has been the main Russian shipbuilding region. Crimea is an integral part of Russia and in Russian hands and hence shipbuilding is back. Sevastopol has been the main Russian naval base since the Peter the Great era and the main Russian ship building base. The dumbass Ukis had a small dry dock at surrounded Mariupol which is no longer operational. Where you guys get your information? a box of corn flakes :)

Tiresia Branding

two slaps on the French face :-D

MzUnGu

Keel not laid down yet. It’s Russia. it’s Russia, it will just be a plastic model for a few more years.

AM Hants

Which is why Russia supplies the US their space rocket engines.

Which reminds me, I must catch up on having another peak at those little grey corvettes, over in the Caspian Sea, which pack a mighty punch.

FULL REPORT: Russian Navy from Caspian sea fires 26 missiles against Daesh’s positions in Syria… https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jY69ZIy2wrg

Russia defence budget $48 billion, and leaves all that NATO member states have, impotent. US defence budget $750 billion, with nothing coming in on time, on budget or in working order, in the 21st century.

Do believe you have muddled your nations.

Boycott-Israel!

Trump would need to build UFO to counter Putin if he won the next election.

You can call me Al

I thought he had one of those in the F-35.

Unflyable Fucked-up Overstretch (sorry that was the best I had).

Boycott-Israel!

That’s good one.

AM Hants

Perfect description of the F35, you just left over priced out.

FlorianGeyer

Yes indeed, Al. The US F35 is indeed a ‘ Useless Flying Object ‘.

You can call me Al

Damn it. That is the one I had somewhere, could not find it and then resorted into my D-2 trash mode.

FlorianGeyer

I was fortunate to have a misspelt youth, sorry, misspent youth. Sorry again, both of the above.

AM Hants

Mistrals so comes to mind. With France having to hand back the money Russia paid them, with a bonus, plus the designs. Nice to see Russia going ahead with the project and keeping out foreign shipbuilders.

democritos

Stolen Mistral plans? And is the quality same?

Thom Kinoshta

not stolen, it was part of the contract. Russian engineers were at the site of the building of the Mistrals. Russia has new technology for building large carriers.
