Russia To Send 1,000 Fighters From Northeast Syria To Libya: Anadolu Agency

Russia was preparing to send 1,000 Syrian fighters to Libya to reinforce the Libyan National Army (LNA), the Anadolu Agency reported on September 9, citing local source.

The Turkish-state run news agency claimed that Russia had recruited the Syrian fighters from the northeastern city of al-Qamishli, which is located on the border with Turkey. The city is jointly controlled by government forces and the Syrian Democratic Forces.

“They [the fighters] are between the ages of 20 and 45 and will each receive $2,000 per month to be a part of Haftar’s forces for five months,” the Anadolu Agency quoted the sources as saying.

The Anadolu Agency claimed that Russia had so far deployed 5,000 Syrian private military contractors in Libya. The same number was mentioned in a recent report by the Pentagon’s Inspector General.

In the last few months, a series of reports by Syrian pro-opposition sources and Turkish outlets have accused Russia of deploying Syrian pro-government fighters in Libya to support the LNA. So far, there has been no evidence to back these claims.

On the other hand, there is sufficient evidence on the deployment of thousands of Syrian militants by Turkey in Libya. The numbers are reportedly between 5,000 and 18,000.

nothing wrong about that..who will survive gets rf citizenship maybe their childs will educate at russian unversities..win-win..

adzsiam

Probably the same kind of offer given to Syrians fighting in the service of Turkey?

Servet Köseoğlu

in terms of recruiting syrian fighters both countries are using similar methods but different approachs(in terms of syria, russia-syrian co. is luckier because they are controlling larger areas with more population). Assuming syrian fighters are assigned sequential serial numbers starting with 1, suppose that four fighters are picked-up and that they have the serial numbers: 19, 40, 42 and 60.The Turkish approach predicts the total number of fighters that has to be recruited n=74,whereas the russian side predicts that the number of fighters for recruitment would be n(av)=89.Let N equal the total number of fighters predicted to be recruited, m equal the highest serial number observed(population unofficially) and k equal the number of fighters chosen.turkish prediction calculated as:n=m+m/k-1=74 where russian approach n(av)=(m-1)k-1/k-2=89.after recruitment procees who deserves to get citizenship can vote, get any education at schools, travel within the country.Which motivation pushes syrian fighters to application?poverty, desperation, good future to its childs etc.

2000/mo? I will be left alone since all the brave warriors here will join fight in Lybia?

If Lone Ranger is still around, you two can have endless chats to fill up the threads. :)

occupybacon

Ohh no! Then google will penalize the site for duplicate content..

Robert Ferrin

He’s busy trying to locate Tonto.!!!!

HiaNd

If it is only Turk source than it is absolutely NOT true Russia doesn’t do those things ! And Haftar can always buy services of Russian mercenaries like before.

1azdeb2

I don’t believe this at all. The word Pentagon is a big clue. I don’t believe the Turks are involved either. More Israel propaganda.

Jens Holm

Israelians are not as stupid as You. .

Sol Invictus

“Israelians” ? Isra-aliens (from Uranus)

Jens Holm

Name them as You wish. It was a political and military oppion or reflexion.

The Objective

What you believe or disbelieve doesn’t matter. What matters is the proof and logic behind it. You can’t just dismiss a claim simply because it’s from your enemy. I hate the pentagon too, but I know that not every report by the pentagon is false. If Russia can send Russian mercenaries and equipment to LNA why won’t it send Syrians? Besides, doing that minimises Russia’s risk of casualties. On the other hand, I consider this report credible in light of previous Russian actions in Libya.

Cromwell

I think the Syrians have enough on at the moment liberating Syria.

SnowCatzor

Sounds like projection from the Turks, always accuse your opponent of the things you’re guilty of.

Jens Holm

I dont belive this. Qasmili dont have 1000 for soldiers. 2000 dollars a month is no option for even elite soldiers and fx it makes no sense any from there should no defend their homes against Turks.

jm74

Such blatant BS should not get published; disinformation such as this than have catastrophic repercussions. What the world needs now is a return to responsible journalism.

Paul

Send in the Shia assholes as cannon fodder lol.Probably they will chose it as they are dying like rats in yemen and Iraq.

rightiswrong rightiswrong

That’s nice of the Turks to tell us what they think the Russians are going to do.

Is SF now taking the line of the MSM in not fact checking such obvious BS from one state who claim to know what other states are doing?

The Objective

The article only reports a claim by one party. Why is this a big deal. The author didn’t even say he agrees with it

rightiswrong rightiswrong

The one party is the Turkish state media. If the Russian state claimed that Turkey is about to invade Sri Lanka, you’d believe that too?

Show the proof that Russia has sent any troops to Libya, of any nationality.

A lie repeated, is believed to be true, a load of bollox ffs.

The Objective

I have no proof in the form of pictures, videos or other investigative documents. I only used logic to determine that it’s very likely Russia sent Syrian mercs to Libya. Here’s how I figured it: _russia supports dictators trying to remove a popular Muslim democracy in Libya. _russia did send Russian mercs to die in Libya _russia is fighting Turkey in Syria _Russians are averse to casualties. Dead Russians in Libya will backfire on Putin _Russian mercs more expensive and cannot be hired in large numbers _Russia has a history of denying its involvement in Libya despite mounting evidence _the pentagon and Turkey support opposing sides in Libya, yet they report the same thing. This is highycredible.

As a result of the above points, I conclude that this news is more likely to be true than false.

rightiswrong rightiswrong

Highly likely then.

NATO speak for believe us cause we are the good guys, and we’d never lie!

Adults need more than a catchy slogan.

The Objective

SF is a Russian propaganda outlet and you’re obviously one of the agents always trying to creat doubt or disbelief over Russia’s destructive policies. I’m rendering a free service to humanity countring propaganda to my best.

rightiswrong rightiswrong

By up voting yourself?

If you want to do a service to humanity, get some of Navalny’s tea and drink it.

They have loads left over in Porton Downs.

The Objective

You’ve lost track of reason. This is a serious issue and you resort to petty jokes? Propaganda agents like you deserve to be countered. Cos I know there are many visiting Southfront without making comments. They just read and go. Many of those are unsuspecting readers who don’t understand the brutalities of some very people claiming to fight in the cause of humanity, but who are murderers or allied to murderous dictators. I’ll keep fighting disinformation wherever I can.

rightiswrong rightiswrong

You do that boy, good lad.

Who said I was joking?

The Objective

The same Navalny that you guys tried to kill or even killed?

rightiswrong rightiswrong

The Germans didn’t kill him, they’re just playing games.

You don’t seem to be up to speed on that, maybe it was Kashoggi you meant, the guy they used bone saws on while speaking with MBS on the phone.

Sol Invictus

You are obviously a paranoid imbecile, I doubt CIA or Israel or Ukraine or anyone pay you for that worthless garbage, probably one of those braindead trumpist maga idiots… so do a “free service to humanity” and go kill yourself.

rightiswrong rightiswrong

You didn’t need to say paranoid, the next word was more descriptive, lol.

rightiswrong rightiswrong

As you said, you have no proof, so how can I prove there is no basis to a story which offers no proof?

Goebbells was telling the world that Germany would win in April 45, where is the evidence that they did?

The Objective

You cannot always rely on evidence. That’s the reason courts are unfair to most people. Logic is a much better tool than evidences especially when countries try to hide their engagement so hard. I had only to review Russia’s past behaviour and present position to predict or understand what it can or cannot do.

rightiswrong rightiswrong

You only had to review!

Who gives a toss what a muppet like you reviews, ffs take a break, have a Kit Kat.

Willing Conscience (The Truths

“the pentagon and Turkey support opposing sides in Libya”

That’s incorrect, they both support the GNA, France supports the LNA along with Russia, Egypt, Syria ect. And I’m not sure about Sisi not sending in his forces, I think he already has, I suspect equipment and supplies aren’t the only thing Egypts been sending to Libya.

It’s well documented that elements from the Russian backed 5th army corps were actually the Syrian fighters that Russia sent to Libya a few months ago, just after a group of them defected from the SAA, so you’re absolutely right, Russia is definitely sending Syrians to Libya.

rightiswrong rightiswrong

Where is the documentation then?

A scrap of paper that says highly likely? lol

Willing Conscience (The Truths

It was from the same source that I used to make the claim that Russian backed fighters from the 5th army corps had come to blows with Iranian forces and willfully defected back to the opposition forces, and I made that claim on SF at least 3 weeks before SF announced it. Some scraps of paper are better than others, it just depends on what page the scraps were torn from.

rightiswrong rightiswrong

What source?

Don’t mind your bollox, WHAT SOURCE, LIAR?

Willing Conscience (The Truths

I am not a liar, you’re just biased and ignorant.

rightiswrong rightiswrong

Source then, liar!

You’re to ignorant to admit you have none, and your bias against Russia is obvious.

Now go play with the kids boy.

Willing Conscience (The Truths

syrialiveuamaps as well as many others, but your only source of info seems to be SouthFront, hence your astounding ignorance and bias.

rightiswrong rightiswrong

What has a map of Syria got to do with Libya, you muppet.

You’re pathetic, now fuck off you asshole.

Willing Conscience (The Truths

It’s not just a map simpleton, and only assholes hide the truth, which makes you the real asshole. Your avatar name says it all, right is wrong, but my avatar name is willing conscience, so go read a LGBTQI magazine and calm down, leave the important stuff for people like me who question everything and believes no one. Why do LGBTQI trolls like you have to be so antagonistic, isn’t normal social discourse possible anymore, are you all so brainwashed by the modern media you’re no longer capable of normal discourse. So you F off you closet homosexual, like I said go read a LGBTQI magazine.

Sol Invictus

Literally everything you said is total bullshit. Clueless bullshit. This one for example: “the pentagon and Turkey support opposing sides in Libya, yet they report the same thing.” They both support the GNA. .

The Objective

When America truly supports a side against the other, it does one or both of two things: sanction or military force. The fact America applied neither on Haftar is the ultimate evidence they support him. America’s support is for Haftar is passive. Because Haftar is illegitimate and seeks to become another dictator. You are the one talking bullshit. Obviously understanding of the situation is very shallow. America did the same with Egypt, turning a blind eye to a military coup against an elected government. Why? Cos they want to stem the tide of the current Islamic patriotism sweeping Muslim societies. Their only chance short of military invasion is to support dictators, monarchies, and tyrants seize and hold power through murderous force if necessary. You must reason pretty deep to understand the complex realities of oppressive policies.

Sol Invictus

We can talk a lot about CIA connections with Haftar, but officially the Pentagon supports GNA, no doubt there: “A U.S. Embassy in Libya press release in May said that the United States “is proud to partner with the legitimate, UN-recognized government of Libya, the GNA.”
