Russia has informed the UN that it will withdraw 300 “military instructors” from the Central African Republic (CAR), the France-Press Agency (AFP) reported on January 15.
The Russian instructors were deployed, along with three to four helicopters, in the CAR during the country’s presidential elections last December.
“The Russians have informed the UN that they will withdraw the troops and helicopters” an unnamed diplomat told the AFP.
Another diplomat told the news agency that the Russian withdrawal plan was passed to the UN Sanctions Committee responsible for monitoring the arms embargo imposed on the CAR.
According to the Russian Foreign Ministry, the military instructors were sent at the request of the CAR government to help local forces to “strengthen its defensive capacities” in the run-up to the elections.
The Russian decision to withdraw military instructors was reportedly made before the January 13 attack by the rebels on the capital Bangui. The attack was repelled by UN peacekeepers and local forces.
UN sources told the AFP that coordination between UN peacekeepers, the Russian “ilitary instructors and the 300 Rwandan soldiers also sent as reinforcements, turned out to be “pretty good.” The sources added that the presence of “the Rwandans and the Russians have helped a lot.”
Despite the immense effort being made by local government forces and international troops, the situation in the CAR is still far from being unstable.

The withdrawal of Russian military instructor doesn’t necessary means that all Russian military specialists will be also leaving the CAR. The Russians have been supporting the government’s efforts to stabilize the situation and protecting the country’s top officials for a while now.

You seemes to forget it was support to fight the Nazis and the ones still alive after that when to USA as well as Israel becomming a State 1948.

Lets hope its not that bad there as we often think and see it is. I dont know if I should be for or against. Its even difficult for me to see who is whos and which are bad and good ones.
France is very active there and we have helped them in periods for Herciulaess transportations. Even comming in and out is very difficult and also expenasive.
Im no expert in Russian capabilities as well as the economic part, but it would make sense to send high educated people to the desert and steppeland in Syria and make a very well equipped minibase at Sukna and somewhere west of Tabqa.
I dont know if those instructors are of that kind of uducation, but they are used to be varmed up even they are not feeling fine as lizards do.
It could be a kind of Al Tanf with long range artillery, drones, a fightinmg helicopter or two and a stromg rapid responce force. It seemes very needed. Lowlifers from Assads, Iran and Hesbollah is not able to do anything for real there apart from Im happy they die too.
Only Russians can erode down ISIS there.

I just descriebed that 300 well educated Russians and some others could make 2 microbased in the vakuum, where ISIS have too much free space. Thats a sober military wish for them.
smart one russia because a military footprint is not smart in africa and russia should not damage its own future by destroying african relations which are important in fact russia has access to northpole and with africa it could work towards cooperation on the south which would be immense and i believe even a record imagine russia basically controllng both poles
