The Associated Press reported on Friday that Russia and the United States have reached a ceasefire agreement covering the entire south of Syria.
According to the report, three US officials assured to the Associated Press that the ceasefire will be implemented next Sunday, and that the agreement had been reached after talks between Russian President Putin and his US counterpart, Donald Trump.

Jordan and Israel are allegedly part of the agreement as well, but US officials did not talk about the details of the agreement or how it will be implemented. However, they stressed that it’s different from the de-escalation zones agreement. And it’s believed that the new deal will include both Quneitra and Dar’a at least.
Separately, Syrian Air Force warplanes and attack helicopters carried out 30 air strickes on the villages of Ayyib, Umm al-Kharz, Al-Musab, Al-Jisr and Jadal in the Al-Lujat area in the northern Daraa countryside. The Free Syrian Army (FSA) claimed that it shelled Khalkhalah air base in the northern Suweida countryside with dozens of Grad rockets, in response.
It’s worth mentioning that all the ceasefire agreements in the Syrian south have failed previously, mainly because of the existence of Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) and its great influence over the FSA in southern Syria.
