Russia will start preliminary tests of its state-of-the-art S-500 Prometheus air defense system in 2020, Deputy Defense Minister Alexei Krivoruchko said on December 28.
The first serial model of the S-500 is expected to be delivered in 2025, Krivoruchko said in an interview iwth the defense ministry’s official newspaper Red Star.
The S-500 air defense system is designed to intercept long- and medium-range ballistic missiles as well as aircraft. The system is a further development of the current S-400 air defense system, which is capable of destroying targets at a distance of up to 400 km and a height of up to 30 km.
Whilst the US spent billions upon billions on bribes, assassinations, regime change, PR, propaganda bullshit and developing systems which fall way short of their objectives, Russia has quietly developed game changing systems of protection and attack.
Russia needs to ensure that 1917 never happens again otherwise the zionists in isreal, nato and the US will steal those weapons and use them against their enemies. The US has already shown the world that it has no restraint when it comes to getting what they want.
The new tech is a surprise and embarrassment to the USMIC who have been caught napping.

I don’t want to play smart a**. So pardon me for doing so. Russia might be forced into military intervention if her primordial interests are directly in danger. Example; If 30 000 NATO troops enter Ukraine in direction of Russian border those troops will be annihilated before they even arrive close and parts of Ukraine will be invaded by Russian army immediately.

Not only 1917 but also 1999 will never happen again. Russia will never be bankrupt again. Russia never had such solid, robust economy coupled by low inflation and growth in the same time. The fact that Russia is reducing military budget and invests in social programs and reinforcing the standard of living of their citizens speaks for itself.

Unlike the West huge majority of Russian’s are anti-fascists. Unlike many Russians I am also in the same time anti-communist as well. This is seriously postponed, a 5 years extra… S-500 are hyper-sonic interceptors. The range is max 600 km. distance.
Last year we where told the S-500 would start service at the end of 2020, so what happened. it`s mach 6 may not be enough, the US hypersonic missile in 2023 will be mach 6. Maybe hypersonic has top priority now, the Avangard ( 27 x speed of sound ) is put into service.
Let us first wait for “US hypersonic missile in 2023” and see if they deliver… And only than we can go from there to see what is going to happen. No shadow of doubt that Russia is at least one step ahead either way. So no need to play hand and come out in the open yet. The times are kind of World Warish….so every move counts. If need be S-500 can probably be produced or if not ….S-400 seriously upgraded and on very short notice, will.

Mach 6 is just a statement, bt not an exact limit. As the rocket motors get upgraded, also mach 7 would be possible or even higher. The same applies for US weapons, but their track record is somewhat not that reliable, which doubts the 2023 introduction a bit.
Agree, they always get upgraded until the next model, but even the S-300 gets upgraded with S-400 tech. There is also a S-350, with short range and high speed. The mach 6 speed was supposed to be in the first S-500 version, but that plan was early 2000.
You really don’t get the Russian strategy against NATO.
The USA relies on combat aircraft as their primary strike weapon. They went all in on naval and air force aviation since the before WW2.
Russia counters this threat with missiles ….. missiles on mobile launchers that can scoot and hide before the aircraft can locate them.
The strategy is Russia can destroy NATO airbases and aircraft carriers with missiles but NATO can’t target the missile launchers because they are gone minutes after firing their weapons. Aircraft need air superiority and loiter time to find Russian launchers and the Russians have the air defences to deny both to NATO long enough to eliminate NATO aircraft at their most vulnerable which is denying them a place to land and refuel and re arm.
You don’t believe this will work just look back at Scud hunting and the Patriot missiles performance in the gulf war for evidence. that was against primitive ww2 era Scud missiles and the USA had complete air superiority over Iraq and SOF in the desert yet couldn’t find a single scud launcher.
So it doesn’t really matter if the USA develops hypersonic missiles …. Russia can take losses and win the war by denying NATO air superiority then dealing with NATO land forces with overwhelming artillery as NATO can’t move on the ground without dominating the air. A few misslies and aircraft get through so what.
So……..where is a disagreement?
We haven’t seen any photo of launcher vehicle or any other part of the S-500 system. Some sources tell it will use 2-tube launcher as oposed to 4 in S-400…
