Russian Su-57 5th Gen Fighter Jet Flies With Production-Standard Engine For First Time (Video)

PAK FA

The Sukhoi Su-57 PAKFA fifth-generation fighter jet has flown with a production-standard engine for the first time, Russia’s United Aircraft Corporation announced in a statement on December 5. According to the statement, the Su-57 flew for 17 minutes “in accordance with the conditions of the flight assignment.”

The Su-57 conducted its maiden flight in 2010. Currently, nine Su-57 are undergoing state trials. The fighter jet serial production is expected to be launched in 2018.

Funny how Western military “media” claimed the Izd 30 wouldn’t fly until 2019-20….. hee haw… fucking donkeys…

Tudor Miron

More than that – many here wnere saying the same, Let’s see how many will have courage to admit that they were wrong.

chris chuba

To me it seems that the Su-57 is a small part of Russia’s military doctrine except possibly as an export vehicle. They just don’t seem all that interested in it. They plan on fighting within S4/500 range, not in stealthily penetrating foreign airspace.

Now my real question is, what does Russia want to develop in order to be able to hit U.S. targets with tactical warheads (to have the ability, not desire), what platform would they use? Long range tactical missiles are overkill because of fuel requirements. Submarines, long range bombers, other?

Tudor Miron

Russian MOD is interested in Su-57 just as much as it is needed. Development going more or less according to plan. They said to start flying tests of izdelie 30 at the end of 2018 and that’s what they did. You’re right that there’s no jumping around this plane but rather a steady implementation of advancing technology. We see how effective RuAF is in actual combat scenario (compare it to US coalitions “success” and intensity of their strikes – that is with older generation planes. Su-57 is coming on schedule to enhance already very capable (of defending its country) RuAF. There’s no hurry and no panic. Instead – watching this bird flying and performing unbelievable maneuvers makes one proud of our school of fighter jet designing and building

Development going more or less according to plan

much much less. and without stolen money from india never would be finished.

John Whitehot

you are really slipping in a deep swamp.

it’s a sad spectacle to be witnessing this Lmao.

Gary Sellars

Stupid comment (stolen money from India?) But that’s what we expect from you…

Solomon Krupacek

you are stupid. google is your friend to meke youu less stupid ;)

John Whitehot

you have to take into account things that are not publically documented.

The “stealth” factor in “5th gen” fighters could actually already be completely compromised due to advances in radars sensitivities and signal processing.

This would mean that an aircraft designed to sacrifice other vital factors to “low obs” would find itself at disadvantage against another plane that isn’t stealth but has retained its performance parameters.

That said, I won’t go any further in the side by side comparison of planes or other weapons, because it’s one of the silliest practices ever made, at least if the aim is to get an idea of the effectiveness of a given system.

The western milprop has insisted on this venue of thought for decades, because it’s target is substantially a consumer with a certain mindset.

To make an example, “I have a BMW, you have a Peugeot so I win”. I’m richer, faster, cooler, all the pussy is mine.

But wars at all levels aren’t fought in that way. The comparison must be done at the more general possible levels (as opposed to the most particular as in the above case), and in any case, it’s not useful as there is no 100% reliable data on which to base any analysis onto.

Suk 57 ( and other warplanes) along S400 and 500 provide the essence of A2/AD defenses to insure air superiority. The hypersonic glide vehicles and their assortment of ballistic and cruise missile provide the delivery means for conventional strikes. T22 and T160M are the tangible platforms for KH101 cruise missiles. While US is talking about Prompt Global Strike without having developed the necessary weapons, Russia should have a Prompt Global Strike capability by 2020,

SG

If you think the S-400 and S-500 air defense systems are impressive, just wait until you get a load of the road mobile A-235 ‘Nudol’ anti-ballistic defense system set to replace the outdated A-135 Amur that is for the most part stationary.

http://www.pravdareport.com/russia/economics/13-11-2017/139167-anti_missile_weapons-0/

[This system is said to replace the morally outdated A-135 Amur system around Moscow and other major cities and military bases. At the same time, Russia will take measures to replace long-range echelon launchers and conduct comprehensive upgrade of the Don 2N radar.

A235 Nudol will most likely be able to strike targets at an altitude of 1000 kilometres (S-500 – 200 km), with a range of up to 1500 km horizontally (S-500 – 600 km) and a speed up to 7 km/sec. In a nutshell, the new system will have no competition in the world. It will be much superior to the widely advertised THAAD system of the USA.]

My statements pertained to conventional weapons, even though S500 has good anti ballistic capabilities. I knew of A235 Nudol antibalistic missile system and their mobile deployment and its stagerring capabilities. Sarmat ICBM + A235 NUDOL antibalistic missiles provide Russia with a first strike capability. Even more deadly would be the deployment of hypersonic glide vehicles project 4202 which would have the means to produce a decapitating strike without much notice or fanfare. In the mean time US neocons are void of understanding these realities and keep acting like they are superior with their old triad.

Russia needs to deploy the S500 on ships in the northernmost Atlantic to be in position to intercept any Trident SLBMS as soon as they are launched. Kill the bus missile and eliminate 8 to 10 MIRVS.

Solomon Krupacek

:))))))

Wolfgang Wolf

draw a line of 5000km range from the russian state borders – so you can see how far the strategic cruise missiles (KH-series) will reach easily, without the launching vehicle leaving russian airspace. sea-based and sub-based cruise missiles (“Kalibr” series) have range of about 2000-2500km…. so do your own conclusions

You can call me Al

Yanks and “admit that they were wrong” …..mmm rather doubtful don’t you think !!?

Nigel Maund

Just a wish I guess! The Russians are full of surprises. They are wise to keep everyone ignorant of what they’re doing until they achieved their objectives. False claims undermine credibility. Just look at the F35.

BMWA1

Do I have to?

Jesus

Western military media asseses military matters based on western technological template, or sheer misinformation. In their hubris, they have a tendency to underestimate their competitor’s capabilities. Suk 57 is going to make the F35 the laughing stock of the world.

You can call me Al

My handheld catapult makes the F-35 the laughing stock to the World.

Daniel Castro

F35 makes itself the laughing stock of the world… or rather it makes murican taxpayers…

Google is paying 97$ per hour, with weekly payouts. You can also avail this. John Whitehot

the periscope? what is it that bothers you actually?

that they could do the same exact thing with cameras and fiber optics at 1000x the price?

Russia makes weapon systems to be effective in war.

The west makes weapon systems to be costly.

The US military industrial complex has been inventing threats and killing US citizens in order to be able to continue parasiting the taxpayers after the cold war.

I don’t know if we ‘ll live long enough to see it, but I guarantee you that one day, these people will be dragged into the streets by their own countrymen, who they deprived of the most basic services to satisfy their never ending greed; who they sent to kill, die, get mutilated and ruined forever in wars that they invented and provoked with the only intent of earning money from them.

Orcbuu

Hehe Solomonkey did a Big Rant on this Theme not so long ago.

Solomon Krupacek

donkey are you! this is first time, esting version. 2-3 years will need to finalize the project and produce in larger amount.

John Whitehot

bullshit. that’s already done, serial production in 2018 means it gets in service.

Solomon Krupacek

read the website of russian MOD and the producer.

Vidura

Welcome to the 21st century you losers lol!

Allen Flick

Are our jets still killing their pilots? Yes they are.

Vidura

No they aren’t.

chris chuba

From the announcement, it looks like these are the new engines …

“December 5, 2017 in the LII them. M.M. Gromov made the first flight of the newest Russian fighter of the fifth generation T-50 with the engine of the second stage.”

You can call me Al

17 minutes, well that is conclusive.

John Whitehot

at least pieces did not fell off from it

You can call me Al

or did they ???

See the next episode of “the flying retard”.

John Whitehot

so far I’ve seen the latest of the “comments writing retard”, just above this one.

You can call me Al

Damn that’s me. Apologies, however I was commenting on the -35 is that was unclear.

F-35 = “the flying retard”.

John Whitehot

oh, i see. sorry for the misunderstanding, u know, the web is full of people with their minds made up without having read a single technical document.

You can call me Al

I agree, but that is not me. Ah well, no harm done, catch you later.
