Russian Aerospace Forces Destroyed Three Training Camps In Syria’s Greater Idlib – Report

The Russian Aerospace Forces had destroyed three training camps run by militants in the Syrian region of Greater Idlib, RusVesna.SU revealed on September 29.

According to the Russian outlet, the three camps were targeted as follows:

• On September 9, Russian warplanes targeted a training camp of al-Qaeda-affiliated Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) in Arshani Tahtani with KAB-1500 guided bombs and OFAB-250 bombs. The camp was hosting around 150 militants. As a result of the airstrikes, 80 militants, including commanders, were neutralized. six vehicles and a shelter were also destroyed.
• On September 15, Su-34 and Su-24M warplanes targeted another camp of HTS Ma’arrat Misrin, where militants were trained by foreign military contractors.
• On September 20, four Su-24s and one Su-34 carried out seven airstrikes at a military camp in the outskirt of Idlib city. Militants displaced from Zabadani were stationed there. KAB-500 guided bombs and OFAB-250 bombs were used in the strikes.

The recent Russian airstrikes on Grater Idlib were likely a response to the militants’ repeated violations of the  ceasefire agreement signed between Russia and Turkey on March 5.

Not only Greater Idlib militants are violating the ceasefire, but also taking advantage of it to rebuild their forces. Turkey, which maintains a large force in the regions, is doing nothing to stop these violations.
