NATO loses no hope fighting Russian air defense in Crimea. On the night of April 30, the peninsula came under another attack of presumably the US-made ATACMS missiles.
On the morning of April 30, the Russian Ministry of Defense reported in its daily briefing that “during the day, ten Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles, six ATACMS tactical missiles manufactured by the United States and two guided aircraft bombs “Hammer” manufactured by France were shot down by air defense means.” The Russian military did not officially declare where all of the mentioned foreign missiles were destroyed; but there are no doubts that the six ATACMS missiles were used for the attack on the Crimean peninsula.
The local sources and officials confirmed the attack, claiming that explosions thundered in the central and northern parts of the peninsula, in the areas of Simferopol and Dzhankoy. The Ukrainian military, coordinated by NATO, likely targeted the areas of deployment of Russian air defense near the capital of Crimea and at the Dzhankoy airfield, which protects the strategically important railway junction in the north of the peninsula.
The total umber of the missiles was not revealed, but some officials declared that the air defense forces did their work perfectly. No damage in Crimea was reported. Thus, there were likely six missiles and all of them were intercepted.
The Crimean authorities warned the local residents that the cluster munition of the intercepted missiles was scattered in some areas and warned the civilians not to touch them. The warning was provided with the footage of an unidentified submunitions.

The Ukrainian military ordered by NATO ‘military commanders’ attempts to inflict maximum damage to Russian air defense in Crimea, preparing for the previously declared major attack on the Crimean Bridge. At the moment, the US-made ATACMS missiles are probing Russian air defense, while the main attack may include the strikes with ATACMS, Storm Shadow missiles, as well as naval and aerial drones.
