Russian air-defense units deployed in the strategic Hmeimim airbase repelled a new drone attack in the late hours of July 11.
Local sources said that at least two armed unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) were shot down away from the base, which is located in the southern countryside of Syria’s Lattakia. The attack didn’t result in any losses, according to the available information.
Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham (HTS), the former branch of al-Qaeda in Syria, is believed to be responsible for these repeated drone attacks on Hmeimim airbase. The terrorist group’s primitive drones have failed to cause any real damage in the airbase, so far. However, they remain a serious threat.
The new attack came a few minutes after a successful Syrian Arab Army (SAA) counter-attack in northern Hama. HTS and its allies were forced to withdraw from the town of al-Hamameyat and its hill.
Through such attacks, HTS and its allies in Greater Idlib continue to demonstrate their aggressive attitude, which will not likely change in the future.

really? Is that why Iron Dome only intercepted 170 missiles out of 600 launched back in May 2019. That’s barely a 30% interception rate. What about the 2 HOMEMADE long range Palestinian rockets that BYPASSED THAAD and David’s Sling? They made it all the way to hell aviv

Just facts. Russian Tor-M2 and Pantsir-S1/S2 in Latakia have been able to repel every single rebel salvo of missiles and drone attacks with 90-95% interception rates, and 100% at times. Very few times have small amounts of rebel drones/missiles made it through

Here’s an idea, how about instead of just repelling every drone and rocket attack made against the Russian bases, they instead just get rid of the people launching them, problem solved.
