Russian air defenses foiled over the night of July 10 and 11 yet another Ukrainian drone attack, the Ministry of Defense announced.
In a statement, the ministry said that two drones were shot down over the Bryansk region and three others were intercepted over the regions of Moscow, Tambov and Tula. No casualties or material losses were reported in any of the targeted regions.
The response to the attack came quickly apparently, as Ukrainian media reported a Russian missile and drone strike early on July 11.
The Ukrainian Air Force said that two Iskander-M ballistic missiles and six Geran-type suicide drones were launched by the Russian military.
The missiles hit their target in the region of Sumy, causing losses. The air force alleged that all six drones were shot down by Ukrainian air defenses over four other regions. Nevertheless, blasts and damage were reported in the region of Mykolaiv.
The Russian MoD has not yet provided any details on the reported missile and drone strike. It usually announces such attacks within 24 hours.
The Kiev regime intensified attacks on Russia with the start of the year, damaging infrastructure and killing and wounding a number of civilians. The main aim of these attacks appears to be to make up for the never ending failures of Kiev forces in the battlefield.
In response, the Russian military resumed group strikes on military infrastructure and related energy facilities in Ukraine last March.
The strikes inflicted heavy losses on Ukraine. Despite this, the Kiev regime and its backers are planning to step up attacks on Russia.
