Russian Air Defenses Intercept Ukrainian Rockets, Missiles & Drones In Three Regions (Videos)

Russian air defenses have foiled several attempts by Kiev forces to target Belgorod and two other Russian regions with rockets, ballistic and anti-aircraft missiles as well as suicide drones, according to the Russian Ministry of Defenses.

Late on March 19, the ministry announced in a statement that ten Czech-made RM-70 Vampire 122 mm rockets and a Soviet-made Tochka-U tactical ballistic missile were intercepted by Russian air defenses over Belgorod.

The ministry said in a follow up statement that a Soviet-made S-200 anti-aircraft missile modified by Kiev forces to hit ground targets was intercepted over the region of Kursk and another anti-aircraft missile, an American-made Patriot, was shot down over Belgorod.

In another statement released early on March 20, the ministry announced that Russian air defenses shot down a Ukrainian suicide drone over Belgorod and four others over the region of Saratov.

Minor material damage was reported in Belgorod after the last wave of Ukrainian strikes, while there were no reports of any casualties or material losses in Saratov, where the target was reportedly the Engels-2 Air Force Base.

In Kursk, the target of the failed Ukrainian missile attack was apparently the nuclear power plant in the town of Kurchatov, which is named after the region. The plant confirmed in a post to its official Telegram channel that its operations were not disturbed by the attack.

The Kiev regime has been launching strikes against Russian territory using rockets, missiles and drones on a daily basis for over two weeks. In addition, its forces made several attempts to infiltrate both Belgorod and Kursk. So far, most of the strikes have been foiled and hundreds of troops have been killed in failed infiltration attempts.

The aim of Ukraine’s repeated cross-border attacks appears to be to terrorize civilians and disturb peace in Russia. The response to Ukraine’s recent attacks will likely be fierce.
