The Russian military thwarted over the night of September 14 and 15 another Ukrainian attack on the territory of Russia, intercepting more than two dozen fixed-wing suicide drones.
In a statement, the Russian Ministry of Defense said that air defenses shot down 15 drones over the Bryansk region, five over the Kursk region, four over the Smolensk region, two over the Oryol region and one drone over each of the regions of Belgorod, Kaluga and Rostov.
The ministry announced in a later statement that an additional fixed-wing suicide drone was intercepted over the Ryazan region.
No casualties or material losses were reported in any of the targeted Russian regions, which indicates that the Ukrainian drone attack was a complete failure.
Also overnight, the Ukrainian Air Force alleged that the Russian military fired two ballistic missiles, one cruise missile and 14 Geran-type fixed-wing suicide drones into Ukraine.
The cruise missile and ten of the drones were shot down by air defenses, the air force claimed in a statement posted to its official channel on Telegram. Nevertheless, several large blasts were reported in Kharkiv and a number of other regions in Ukraine.
The Kiev regime intensified drone attacks on Russian territory in recent months, targeting mainly civilian infrastructure and properties.
The Russian military has been responding to such attacks by launching group strikes against military infrastructure and related energy facilities in Ukraine.
