Over the night of June 29 and 30, Russian air defenses foiled a large-scale Ukrainian drone attack that targeted six different regions in Russia, according to the country’s Ministry of Defense.
In a statement, the ministry said that 15 drones were intercepted over the Kursk region, nine over the region of Lipetsk, four over each of the regions of Voronezh and Bryansk as well as two more drones over each of the regions of Oryol and Belgorod.
The ministry announced in a separate statement released later in the morning of April 30 that an additional drone was shot down over Belgorod.
The governors of the Lipetsk and Bryansk regions both said on their official Telegram channels that there were no casualties or extensive damage as a result of the attacks. There were also no reports of any losses in Kursk, Voronezh, Oryol or Belgord.
The Kiev regime intensified drone and missile attacks on Russia in recent months, damaging infrastructure and killing and wounding a number of civilians.
The main aim of these desperate attacks appears to be to make up for the never ending failures of Kiev forces in the battlefield.
In response, the Russian military resumed group strikes on military infrastructure and related energy facilities in Ukraine. It also stepped up offensive operations in the directions of Donetsk, Kharkiv and several others, capturing more territory from Kiev forces.
