Russian air defenses repelled over the night of August 31 and September 1 one of Ukraine’s largest drone attacks so far, shooting down over 150 suicide drones over Moscow and more than a dozen other regions of Russia.

In a statement, the Russian Ministry of Defense said that 46 drones were intercepted by air defenses over the Kursk region, 34 over the Bryansk region, 28 over the Voronezh region, 14 over the Belgorod region and eight over the region of Ryazan.

It added that tow more drones were shot down over the city of Moscow, seven over the Moscow region, five over the Kaluga region, four over the Lipetsk region, three over the Tula region, two over the Tambov region, two over the Smolensk region, one over the Oryol region, one over the Tver region and one over the region of Ivanovo.

Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin said that one of the drones downed near the city crashed near the Moscow Oil Refinery. As a result, one of the refinery’s buildings was damaged and a fire was reported following the attack, according to the Ria Novosti news agency. There were no reports of casualties.

The refinery, owned by Gazprom Neft, the oil division of Russian gas giant Gazprom, is located to the southeast of Moscow.

Three other drones targeted the Kashira Power Plant in the Moscow region, according to Mikhail Shuvalov, the head of the Kashira city district. The official said that the attack did not result in any fires, damage or casualties.

The Russian Baza Telegram news channel also reported that loud explosions were heard near the Konakovo Power Station in Tver, one of the largest energy producers in central Russia.

Astra, another Russian news channel on Telegram, reported two more fires in Tver close to a local gas distribution infrastructure.

The Kiev regime intensified its attacks on Russian territory in the last few months, even launching an invasion into Kursk early last August. This escalation had no impact on the situation within the special military operation zone, where Kiev forces continue to suffer heavy losses and lose ground.

The latest Ukrainian drone attack didn’t result in any meaningful losses, still the Russian military will likely respond within a few weeks, if not days.
