Russian air defenses thwarted another large-scale Ukrainian drone attack over the night of November 23 and 24, shooting down dozens of drones over four different regions.
In a statement, the Russian Ministry of Defense said that at least 34 suicide drones were shot down. 27 of the drones were downed over the region of Kursk, four over the region Lipetsk, two over the region of Belgorod and over the region of Oryol.
The attack was apparently a complete failure as no casualties or material losses were reported over any of the targeted regions.
The Russian response to the attack came fast, as Ukrainian media reported a Russian attack with Geran-type suicide drones early in the morning.
The Ukrainian Air Force claimed that 50 of 73 drones launched by the Russian military were intercepted. Nevertheless, blasts were reported in the Ukrainian capital, Kiev, as well as in the regions of Cherkasy, Kirovohrad, Chernihiv, Sumy, Poltava, and Zhytomyr.
The Kiev regime stepped up attacks on Russian territories with the start of the year, killing or wounding dozens of civilians and damaging some infrastructure.
In response, the Russian military resumed group strikes against Ukraine in the summer and intensified drone attacks in recent weeks. Ukraine’s military industrial complex and related energy facilities took heavy damage. However, the Kiev regime continues to escalate.
