On October 6th, the Russian Aerospace Forces launched air strikes on underground ISIS command posts in US-controlled territory in the north of the Syrian province of Deir ez-Zor.

It is reported that during the air strikes, one of the shelters housed the field commander Abu Qatada, who was involved in the preparation of a terrorist act against Russian military personnel on August 18th in the “White Desert”, when a Russian general, a military translator and Syrian soldiers were killed.

As a result of a group air strike by a pair of Su-34s, both shelters were destroyed. Approximately 30 militants, including the field commander Abu Qatada, were killed.

There have been no comments from the leadership of the International Anti-Terrorist Coalition explaining why members of the terrorist organization ISIS are freely located in the territory controlled by the United States.
