A Russian airstrike allegedly killed ISIS leader Abu Bakr Al-Baghdadi south of Raqqa, the Russian Defense Ministry said on Friday.
According to the ministry, the Russian Aerospace Forces bombed the ISIS military council in southern Raqqah on May 28.
“According to information that is checked through various channels, IS [ISIS] leader Ibrahim Abu-Bakr al-Baghdadi, who was killed as a result of the strike, was also present at the meeting,” the ministry said in a statement, adding that “As a result of the Su-35 and Su-34 airstrikes, high-ranking commanders of the terrorist groups who were part of the so-called IS military council, as well as about 30 mid-level field commanders and up to 300 militants of their personal security, have been killed.”
The verification is ongoing.
Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov also said that the report still has to be confirmed.
Russian intervention has been the most significant factor in the war against IS, a fact which the western mainstream media have chosen to deliberately ignore.
You must be very hard censured, senile or born yesterday.
You feel so because you are retarded.
Another fine performance by the Russian Air Force. Being obliterated by bombs, rockets, missiles and gunfire is the only just fate for these murderous butchers. No more ‘Allah-a-Akhbars” for them and the diabolical, despicable, incompetent idiot boys and girls at the US Pentagon can keep their $25 million dollar bounty.
Lets hope its true this time.
Right…. He is the new Osama bin laden and everyone ones to be the one to kill him. Most likely he is safely back in Israel since months now.
My best gues has been he is laughing smoking cigars and having drinks in a Turkish light populated Tourist beachhouse.
This. He is a Mossad agent, real name Simon Elliot.
If indeed the Russian investigations prove without doubt that Baghdadi is dead that is very good news. The bonus of course are the deaths of some of his top terror henchmen and hopefully there were US,NATO,Saudi, Israeli advisers there as well.
Well done Russia, Bravo.
Doubt Al-Bagdadi (real name Simon Elliot) was even in Syria and not chilling at Mossad HQ.
