On June 20, a series of Russian airstrikes hit the northwestern Syrian region of Greater Idlib, which is controlled by al-Qaeda-affiliated Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) and several other terrorist groups.

Several airstrikes hit the northern outskirts of Idlib city and the vicinity of the town of al-Sheikh Bahr in the northern countryside of Idlib. The targets of the airstrikes were reportedly a headquarters, underground ammunition depots and an ammunition supply base of HTS.

The pinpoint Russian airstrikes were coordinate with Orlan-10 reconnaissance drones and carried out by Su-34 fighter bombers.

HTS and its allies violated the ceasefire in Greater Idlib, which was brokered by Russia and Turkey, on several occasions in the last few days. The airstrikes were likely carried out in response.

The airstrikes came as senior diplomats from Russia, Turkey, Iran and Syria arrived in the Kazakhstan capital of Astana for a new round of talks on the normalization process between Ankara and Damascus.

Turkey maintains a large military force in Greater Idlib. This presence is preventing the Syrian military and its allies from resuming ground operations against HTS and other terrorist groups in the region. Damascus wants a normalization agreement with Ankara that puts an end to this presence and launches coordination against terrorism.

getting things ready for the liberation of idlib. turkey is swamped with refugees and certainly doesn’t want anymore. once these nato terrorists start running, they will go north and east into turkey.

the turkish currency is almost toast so they must be financing their occupation with debt. their biggest bone to pick is with the kurds but the us and the isreali apartheid regime won’t let them do it. idlib could be a quagmire for the turkish admin and could bring down its gov’t if things go pear shaped.
