Warplanes of the Russian Aerospace Forces carried out a series of airstrikes against ISIS cells in Syria’s central region, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) reported on August 22.
The London-based pro-opposition monitoring group said in a report that the Russian airstrikes targeted the terrorists’ deployment areas near the town al-Resafa in the southern Raqqa countryside and the town of Palmyra in the eastern countryside of Homs.
“No information was received about human casualties,” the group added.
Syrian media shared videos of Russian airstrikes on the central region a day earlier. These were likely the same airstrikes reported by the SOHR.
Intensive Russian and Syrian airstrikes targeted ISIS cells and even United States proxies in the central region the past months. Still, attacks on government forces and civilians in the region saw an uptake.
On August 18, four Syrian troops were killed when they were ambushed by suspected ISIS terrorists near the town of al-Sholah in the western countryside of Deir Ezzor. Another soldier was killed in an attack near the town of Tabni in the northern Deir Ezzor countryside on August 21, with the terrorist group also blamed.
ISIS cells have been waging an insurgency in central Syria for most of the past decade. The terrorists receive support from their comrades in the northeastern region which is held by the U.S. and its proxy, the Kurdish-led Syrian Democratic Forces.
Syrian and Russian officials also accused U.S. forces in the southeastern area of al-Tanf of training and even arming militants, including members of ISIS, more than once in the past.

well done to the crew conducting this mission, it was an awesome strike.
syria is first leg in the jews triangle trade, a) disunited states steals syria’s oil and b) second leg, deliver it to the thieving kurds, who receive heroin or opium from local sources or and c) third leg, deliver it to the jews mossad/cia which organisation(s) transport it further afield, say europe. most lucrative for all parties involved. the onward transport is hard to find, but it is there. ask interpol!
