On March 26 and 27, a new wave of Russian airstrikes targeted hideouts and equipment of ISIS cells in Syria’s central region.
According to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, more than 30 Russian airstrikes targeted the group. Most of the airstrikes hit hideouts and equipment in eastern Homs near the town of al-Sukhnah as well as along the Ithriyah road in eastern Hama.
“Russian strikes killed six ISIS operatives, in addition to destroying some of the group’s vehicles,” the London-based monitoring group said in a report.
The airstrikes were likely a response to recent attacks by ISIS in central Syria, where government forces have been conducting several combing operations.
Late on March 26, six pro-government fighters were killed and three others were injured in an attack by ISIS cells. The terrorists raided a military post in the outskirts of the town of Uqayribat in eastern Hama.
The Syrian Observatory has documented the death of 861 fighters of ISIS in central Syria since March 24 of 2019. The real number is likely even higher.
The recent operations in the central region by Syrian government forces and their allies, mainly the Russian Aerospace Forces, inflicted heavy losses on ISIS. Nevertheless, the terrorist group remains active in several parts of the region.

It’s “speaking with the mouth of the enemy”.
