At least 18 ISIS terrorists were killed in recent Russian airstrikes on Syria’s central region, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) reported on February 6.
According to the London-based monitoring group, warplanes of the Russian Aerospace Forces (VKS) targeted the terrorists, their hideouts and equipment in the central region with more than 130 airstrikes in the last 24 hours.
“Russian warplanes carried out 30 airstrikes on Saturday [February 6], killing seven members of the group [ISIS], while yesterday it conducted 100 airstrikes, killing 11 of the group,” the SOHR’s report reads.
The Russian airstrikes targeted the Hama-Aleppo-Raqqa triangle, mainly the eastern countryside of Hama and the road leading to the town of Ithriyah.
A day earlier, ISIS cells ambushed a unit of the Syrian Arab Army in western Deir Ezzor. Four soldiers were killed and six others were injured.
Damascus alleges that ISIS cells in the central region receive support from US-backed fighters based in the area of al-Tanf. The US-led coalition, which occupies the region, is yet to comment on these claims.
The recent operation by Syrian government forces and their allies, including the VKS, inflicted heavy losses on ISIS. Nevertheless, the threat of the terrorist group continues to grow.

It’s a shame that Al-tanf cannot be bombed or attacked as the US forces, along with their terrorist allies, are hiding next to a refugee camp. I say refugee camp but it’s more like a prison because US forces won’t let those in the camp leave and return home.
Maybe the camp is full of terrorist chattel and offspring? it would explain why the camp was so important to US forces. They haven’t been so diligent with other refugee camps or cities, such as Raqqa.
Are there any unmarked helicopters or cargo planes flying around in the desert? Overdue to start shooting them down.
