Russian Deputy Ambassador to the UN, Vladimir Safronkov, has slammed his British counterpart Matthew Rycroft at a tense session ahead of a vote on a Syria resolution. Rycroft said that Russia “abuses the right of veto,” supports the government regime in Syria and usage of weapons in the Arab republic. In response, Safronkov demanded the UK Ambassador to look in his eye and not to insult Russia.

Safronkov said that the UK is “scared” of cooperation between Russia and the US and does “everything to undermine it.”

“You lose sleep over the fact that we might work together with the US. You are scared, and you do everything to undermine it,” the Russian diplomat said. “Don’t turn away your eyes! Look at me! Why are you averting your eyes?” he told Rycroft.

In addition, the Russian Deputy Ambassador to the UN said that the UK “serves interests of armed groups,” which “exterminate” Christian minorities in the Middle East.

He also noted that the UK “had done nothing” for a peaceful resolution to the Syrian crisis, and added that Rycroft “ignored” de Mistura’s speech and instead chose to “insult Syria, Iran, Turkey and other states.”

“Some of the members of the Security Council are treating their chance to participate irresponsibly, and offensively, resorting to unbecoming language. Don’t you dare insult Russia!” Safronkov said.

Commenting on the Safronkov’s speech, press secretary of the Russian President, Dmitry Peskov, said that there was nothing insulting in his words.

“Indeed, topics of discussions in the Security Council are very dramatic. Often, they relate to the contents and future of international relations,” Peskov said.

“Nothing offensive was said. Manifestations of the spinelessness are fraught in the future with deplorable consequences. Therefore, it is better to defend the interests of our homeland today, and, if necessary, in a rather tough manner,” he added.

Earlier, on April 12, the Kremlin said that the accusations of Washington, according to which Russia was aware of preparations of a chemical attack in Idlib province and tried to hide the Damascus’s involvement in its organizating, are “information mess.” On April 8, UK Foreign Secretary Boris Johnson said that the department regretted about the continued protection of the Asad’s regime by Russia even after the usage of chemical weapons against civilians.

The chemical attack in Khan Shaykhun town in the south of the Syrian province of Idlib took place on April 4. According to the Syrian Human Rights Monitoring Centre, at least 72 people, including 20 children and 17 women, lost their lives in the attack.

Brilliant and hopefully he will carry on. Rather refreshing.

Indeed! The young man is serious, diplomatic, brilliant and intimidating to the Western pro-jihadist fags at the UN! He should be made the permanent Russian ambassador to the UN.

Thegr8rambino

a worthy successor to the late mr. churkin for certain!

christianblood

Indeed!

zigman

churkin looked like a professor. this guy looks like a bear and he talks like one; I bet that british cunt wet his pants

AMHants

Not just Nikki. Remember what she said just before the late Vitaly Churkin, RIP. suddenly and unexpectedly died. I must admit his body language and words, made my hormones come back to life. The men can have their fix of Maria Zakharova, who is wonderful, but I need a daily fix of Valdimir Safronkov haha.

Very well-said!

Don’t get too excited and here is the reason why. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/entry/russia-bans-jehovahs-witnesses-as-extremist-group_us_58f90e52e4b06b9cb9150ac2?ncid=txtlnkusaolp00000618 That’s why I keep saying don’t get carried away with mere mortals.

Ouch… One need to know Russian well to understand his speach in its full meaning. In English there’s only “you” but in Russian we have two words for this one :) One is official and polite and the other one is more intimate and is used between friends but also used with an enemy. The thing that ambassador in UN used this wording means that: “If you insult Russia, be prepeared that you’ll have to answer personally to me right here and not in a diplomatic way.”

John

lol…… good stuff huh!

Tudor Miron

That “look at me” was priceless lol

John

What I am interpreting that is happening is the Russians have had enough. My impression of what Tillerson received, is a good old fashioned spanking behind the scenes with Secretary Lavrov and President Putin. I think he was put through a ringer up there in Moscow. This was reflected in the stance taken by the Russian representative in the UN. I am an American citizen, born and raised. But, I am glad somebody is starting to corral the dangerous nonsense my country has been doing for a very longtime. I wish you a good weekend Tudor.

Finally some cojones… british diplomats are so full of sh*t, they dare to claim the moral high ground?! – there are too many bodies buried in Britain’s moral high ground.

Reminds me of this anecdote: a Royal navy officer said to some french corsair “you French fight for money, while we British fight for honour!” and the corsair replied “a man fights for what he lacks the most.”

Hahaha I love it, so true as well

35/72 is not a bad terrorist kill ratio at all! How does that compare to Mosul? or to W’s Shock and Awe???

Rycroft lives under a stone. He doesn’t like the light.

It’s pretty bad when you get insulted by others but when you insult yourself it’s so much worst. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/entry/russia-bans-jehovahs-witnesses-as-extremist-group_us_58f90e52e4b06b9cb9150ac2?ncid=txtlnkusaolp00000618
