The Russian military has captured a Ukrainian RAM II loitering munition that crashed on an unspecified front in the special military operation zone.

On March 24, photos surfaced online showing the captured loitering munition which appeared to be nearly intact. The loitering munition may have crashed as a result of a technical failure, or as a result of jamming by Russian electronic warfare means.

The RAM II loitering munition is a derivative of the Leleka-100 reconnaissance drone, which was developed by Ukraine’s DEVIRO.

The loitering munition, which is propelled by an electric engine, has an endurance of 55 minutes and an operational range of 30 kilometers. It flies towards the designated area using a GPS-aided inertial navigation system, then uses an electro-optical system to detect, track and engage its target.

The RAM II captured by the Russian military was armed with a high-explosive warhead. The loitering munition can be also fitted with anti-tank or thermobaric warheads.

Kiev forces used the RAM II on a few occasions since the start of the Russian special military operation in Ukraine last year. This indicates that the loitering munition is not being produced on a mass scale.

Russian military experts will likely study and analyze the captured RAM II loitering munitions to understand its capabilities and develop countermeasures.

Russia won the war a while

It’s nice for Russia to capture these drones and understand how they work more.

To by šlo. Pekný úlovok. Keď to pomôže k záchrane životov Ruských vojakov a civilistov tak je to iba dobre.

Yes it looks like the few numbers of these machines being used by the Kiev regime are possible not so efficient or can be jammed by the Russian military and brought down . Good

Downed Ukrop drones can still be dangerous, even small quadcopters, they have started to put in explosive charges in some that go off when they are opened.
