In the Sumy area, the “North” group’s assault groups advanced 450 meters and repelled the Ukrainian command’s attempts to transfer reserves from the 33rd and 210th Assault Regiments. In the Kharkiv area, Russian troops advanced in the Lyptsi and Vovchansk sectors, destroying the 3rd Tank Brigade’s counterattacking groups and deserting units of the 127th Brigade. In the Slaviansk area, specifically in the Krasnyi Lyman sector, Russian units are operating in small groups to expand the “grey zone” towards Staryi Karavan and Brusivka. They are also strengthening their control over the areas of Reznykivka and Kalenyky. In the Kupyansk area, Russian troops have achieved local successes east of Kupyansk-Uzlovoi and are advancing toward Kolodeznoe and Shevyakivka. In the Zaporizhzhia area, units of the “East” grouping repelled five Ukrainian counterattacks, destroying assault groups of the 108th Territorial Defense Brigade and the 210th Assault Regiment. The White House’s draft US budget for fiscal year 2027 contains no provisions for supporting Ukraine.

Sumy Direction

In the Sumy region, the “North” grouping’s assault groups continue to fight fiercely, advancing deeper into the area. Russian troops struck Ukrainian unit personnel and equipment concentrations in Pavlivka, Khrapivshchyna, Pisarivka, Velyka Rybytsia, Vilna Sloboda, and Myronivka, as well as the Vyshenky and Nova Sich villages. Assault groups advanced on fifteen sections in the Sumy district; their total advance over the day amounted to 450 meters.

In the Shostka district, Ukrainian units are accumulating reserves from the 33rd and 210th Separate Assault Regiments. Russian units detected the movement of personnel and engaged them with fire. During intense fighting, Russian assault troops advanced up to 200 meters on two fronts.

The Ukrainian command continues to transfer personnel from other sectors of the front to the Sumy district. For example, instead of reinforcing units in the Vovchansk district, where they were supposed to replace soldiers, servicemen mobilized in 2026 from the 157th Separate Mechanized Brigade were transferred to the Nova Sich area of the Sumy region.

There were no significant changes in the Krasnopillia district. Russian artillerymen and drone operators engage targets of Ukrainian units.

Kharkiv Direction

In the Kharkiv region, the “North” grouping’s assault groups continue to engage in fierce combat, forcing Ukrainian units to retreat from the state border. Russian troops struck concentrations of personnel and equipment in Vesele, Yurenchkovo, Metallivka, Pokalyane, Ambarnoye, Chuhuiv, and Budarky.

In the direction of Lyptsi, Russian assault troops advanced up to 150 meters in forested areas during intense firefights. Several combat groups of the 127th Separate Tank Mechanized Brigade abandoned their positions north of Izbitske due to systematic fire engagement.

In the Vovchansk area, assault groups advanced up to 350 meters along six fronts. Radiological, Chemical, and Biological Defense crews struck a strongpoint of the 113th Separate Territorial Defense Brigade in the Pokaliane area with heavy flamethrower systems.

In the Velykyi Burluk area, the accumulation of destroyed Ukrainian military equipment and personnel continues to grow in the Ambarnoye area. Ukrainian units attempted to attack the positions of Russian troops north of Ambarnoye with two assault groups of the 3rd Separate Tank Brigade on foot. As a result of intense firepower, all groups were destroyed.

Slaviansk Direction

In the Krasnyi Lyman sector of the Slavyansk area, to the west of Dibrova, Russian units are operating in small groups. They are infiltrating deeper and gradually expanding the “grey zone” towards Staryi Karavan and Brusivka. This tactic aims to erode the front line, creating constant pressure and forcing the Ukrainian side to stretch its forces.

Russian units are continuing offensive operations in the Krasnyi Lyman area and are putting pressure on Ukrainian unit positions in an attempt to push them out of Yampil. The main objective is to minimize the Ukrainian units’ bridgehead on the eastern bank of the Oskol River and straighten the front line.

In the Siversk sector, Russian units are strengthening their control of the Reznykivka and Kalenyky areas, consolidating their presence on captured lines. The front line has been straightened, and the tactical “pocket” southwest of the Bondarne–Khromivka area has been eliminated.

Russian forces are increasing pressure by conducting active operations northwest and north of Holubivka. The emphasis is not on a frontal breakthrough but on destabilizing the defense by pressuring adjacent sectors. Ukrainian units continue to attempt to regain control of Minkivka by operating in small groups and trying to infiltrate the settlement and push out Russian forces.

Kupyansk Direction

In the Kupyansk area, east of Kupyansk-Uzlovoi, Russian troops have achieved local successes by pushing through Ukrainian defenses in certain sectors. Though there have been no significant territorial changes, these advances are tactically significant. Meanwhile, on the northern flank, Russian forces are advancing toward the outskirts of Kolodezne and conducting offensive operations near Shevyakivka. They are seeking to expand their bridgeheads and improve their positions.

Zaporizhzhia Direction

In the direction of Zaporizhzhia, the “East” grouping’s assault units are advancing west and northwest of Huliaipole. The destruction of Ukrainian units’ logistics west of the Rizdvianka–Verkhnia Tersa line continues. Russian assault groups are fighting on the approaches to Vozdvizhevka, Verkhnia Tersa, and Komsomolske.

Ukrainian units have made five unsuccessful attempts to counterattack in the western sector in an attempt to halt the advance of Russian troops.

The 108th Separate Territorial Defense Brigade operated in the southeast of Komsomolske with three assault groups on foot. Two groups were completely destroyed, and the third withdrew with losses.

The 210th Separate Assault Regiment, with two assault groups on foot, operated southeast of Vozdvizhevka. Ukrainian forces were unsuccessful; both groups were completely destroyed.

In the northern sector, Ukrainian units did not conduct active operations, instead focusing on rotation and reinforcing the forward edge. As a result of preemptive fire, Russian units attacked the areas of Tykhe, Velykomikhailivka, Mechetne, Liubitske, Lisne, Dolynka, and Charivne.

Conclusion

Analysis of the operational situation indicates the persistence of high-intensity combat operations in all directions. In the Sumy area, the “North” group is advancing systematically, while the Ukrainian command is attempting to transfer reserves and replenish units with deserters and convicts. In the Kharkiv area, Russian troops advancing on the Lyptsi and Vovchansk sectors are destroying counterattacking groups and demoralized Ukrainian units. In the Slaviansk sector, the Krasnyi Lyman area is experiencing an expansion of “grey zones” and increased pressure on Ukrainian units in Staryi Karavan, Brusivka, Reznykivka, and Kalenyky due to the tactic of small groups. In the Kupyansk area, Russian troops’ local successes create prerequisites for further expansion of bridgeheads. In the Zaporizhzhia area, Ukrainian units repelled five counterattacks and destroyed assault groups from the 108th Territorial Defense Brigade and the 210th Regiment, demonstrating that the “East” grouping retains the initiative.

An important event in the international political context was the publication of the draft U.S. budget for fiscal year 2027. The White House document contains no provisions for supporting Ukraine. The word “Ukraine” does not appear once in the 92-page document. The American administration has not allocated funds for Kyiv in the form of weapons, ammunition, or additional financial assistance. There are also no plans to allocate funds for humanitarian aid to Ukraine.

Meanwhile, Washington plans to increase the military budget to a record $1.5 trillion. Among other things, the budget proposes spending $65.8 billion to build 34 ships for the army and navy, including 18 combat vessels and 16 auxiliary ships. Such investments are said to be intended to restore U.S. striking power and guarantee the country absolute military superiority in the face of global threats. The absence of Ukrainian funding in the new budget, coupled with increased military spending, signals a shift in Washington’s priorities. This could be a serious signal to Kyiv and its European allies that they need to revise their support strategy and find alternative sources of funding, especially given the successful offensive of Russian troops in multiple directions.
