The Russian military has destroyed another Ukrainian Burevia 220 mm multiple rocket launcher (MRL), which is a modernized copy of the Soviet BM-27.
On December 10, Ukrainian sources shared photos of the destroyed Burevia online. It is still unclear where the launcher was destroyed, or exactly how.
The Burevia was developed by the Shepetivka Repair Plant and other Ukrainian defense contractors. The MRL is based on a Czech-made Tatra 8×8 T815-7T3RC1 chassis and has an armored cab. It is equipped with a digital fire control system, including a battlefield information exchange system.
The heavy MRL can launch all the available 220 mm rockets for the BM-27 with an effective range of 35 kilometers, including the high-explosive 9M27F, the thermobaric 9M51 and the cluster 9M27K.
In addition, it can fire new rockets with a range of up to 65 kilometers which were developed in Ukraine by Yuzhnoye Design Bureau.
Prior to the start of the Russian special military operation in Ukraine, very few Burevias were produced. This was not likely the first one of these few modern MRLs to be destroyed by the Russian military. In November, a photo showing what appears to be the wreckage of a Burevia and a BM-27 surfaced online.
According to the most recent briefing by the Russian Ministry of Defense, Kiev forces have lost 926 MRLs of different types since the start of the Russian special military operation in Ukraine.
Ok and when are you going to FOAB Kiev to finalize this nazi mess and send Russian service men to spend Christmas and New Year with their families?
“the best laid plans of mice and men often go awry”
“Gang aft aglae … “
There you go US million tax dollars up in smoke… literally.
The damage is all superficial – a roll of duct tape and a spray can of green paint and it will be good to go again.
Duck tape won’t help the barbecued Nazis inside.
they should destroy HIMARS – but they cant.
